- A high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) credential is required.
- A valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and an insurable motor vehicle record under company policy are required.
- The ability to lift 50–75 pounds, work at heights and on ladders, work in hot, cold, and outdoor conditions, and work in confined spaces is required.
- The ability to learn, follow direction, and work safely as part of a team is required.
- The ability to pass a standard background check and drug screen is required.
- Work under a Journeyman or Lead Plumber to install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems on commercial and industrial projects.
- Measure, cut, thread, glue, solder, and braze PVC, CPVC, copper, PEX, and cast-iron piping.
- Set and connect lavatories, water closets, floor drains, carriers, and water heaters.
- Assist with rough-in and trim work, hang and support pipe, and pressure-test systems.
- Read and interpret basic plans, elevations, and isometrics, and verify material takeoffs.
- Safely operate hand and power tools, including threaders, bandsaws, and press tools, and maintain a clean work area.
- Follow safety policies covering personal protective equipment, lockout/tagout, ladders and scaffolds, and confined spaces.
- Document work using photos and simple checklists, support site logistics, and help with material staging.
- Shadow diagnostics, perform preventive maintenance, and support emergency calls on the service track.
- Trade school or National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) coursework is preferred.
- Occupational Safety and Health Administration 10-hour training or cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification is preferred.
- Basic hand and power tool experience is preferred.
- Construction math and measurement skills, including the ability to read a tape measure to 1/16 inch, are preferred.
