The Team / The Business: The Global Licensing and Exchange Relationships Team (Licensing) plays a key role in monetizing Platts’ price assessments through partnership with Exchanges. The team manages the complex relationships with these business partners, which involve both revenue and costs for Platts. With staff in the Americas, London, and Singapore, Licensing has a global remit to drive growth from emerging commodity markets in addition to managing the commercial arrangements for longstanding benchmarks.
As one of the five operating companies under the umbrella of financial information services leader S&P Global, Commodity Insights is the gold standard in commodity market news, pricing, and analytics. Platts benchmark price assessments are used to settle tens of millions of dollars of transactions every day, and underpin hundreds of derivatives contracts listed on exchanges. Branching out from its roots in oil, Platts has established a leading presence across commodities including the emerging Energy Transition space.
