  • Completion of Hospital Orientation, Observation Aide Orientation, and Avasys Orientation.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all age levels served within the scope of the position and assigned areas.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position without posing a direct threat to the health and safety of themselves or other individuals in the workplace, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Responsibilities
  • Provide constant in-person observation of patients who require supervision because of possible danger to themselves or others, a change in mental status, or risk of injury or interference with medical or surgical equipment.
  • Assist licensed staff with the application and removal of restraints.
  • Safely assist patients with ambulation and mobilization activities.
  • Recognize patient emergency situations and respond appropriately.
  • Provide continuous observation and surveillance of assigned patients via Avasys.
  • Verbally redirect patients from engaging in risk behaviors.
  • Demonstrate operational competency with the Avasys Monitoring System.
