Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
5+ years of experience as a Cloud Analytics Engineer or related role
Strong knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
Strong knowledge of FinOps and the ability to implement cost-saving strategies in the cloud
Experience with data warehousing solutions such as Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery
Experience with relational databases such as SQL Server or Postgres
Proficiency in SQL, Python, and data analytics tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker
Strong knowledge of FinOps and the ability to implement cost-saving strategies in the cloud
Experience with REST APIs as a data source
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong attention to detail
A keen eye for good design
An understanding of public cloud infrastructure along with performance metrics
An ability to think critically
Experience with observability tools, such as Datadog

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain cloud-based data pipelines to process data from various sources
Implement and maintain data warehousing solutions using cloud platforms such as GCP and Azure
Develop and maintain data analytics systems to support data-driven decision-making
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and design data analytics solutions
Monitor performance and optimize cloud infrastructure systems for efficiency and scalability
Design and deliver reports and dashboards with executive visibility
Extract data and perform reporting/ad-hoc analyses/deep dives to support business needs
Collaborate on KPIs and metrics to monitor and run the business and build reports using them
Ensure cost-effective usage of cloud resources through the implementation of best practices in FinOps
Stay up-to-date with the latest cloud technologies and trends

Cloud Platform Analytics Engineer

Job location: Ottawa-Hybrid, Other Canadian locations- Remote

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Platform Analytics Engineer to join our dynamic team as a key player driving Kinaxis’ Cloud Analytics strategy.

As a key contributor to the Cloud Platform Analytics & Observability team, the successful candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining our cloud analytics infrastructure while also ensuring cost-effective usage of cloud resources. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement data pipelines, data warehousing solutions, and data analytics systems to support business-critical decision making.
