5+ years of experience in Performance Engineering and Benchmarking
2+ years experience as Lead/Principal Engineer
Extensive hands-on experience with performance engineering, including the use of JMeter, LoadRunner, or similar tools, as well as profiling tools
Ability to find the root cause of performance bottlenecks with profiling tools
Linux and system level scripting and troubleshooting (shell, python)
Expert in distributed computing systems and stack
JVM performance tuning - GC, heaps, threads
Smart, quick learner, proactive, comfortable working with unknowns and dynamically evolving requirements
Proven ability to mentor, coach, and lead a team to success
Ability to motivate people, instill accountability and achieve results
Excellent customer service attitude, communication skills (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills
Experience with building/deploying/managing AWS on an enterprise-level
BS/BEng in engineering/computer science or equivalent

Responsibilities

Ensure that the performance team builds more tests and data sets for performance metrics
Execute the right tests at the right time, analyze the results, and get the right development teams involved with issues
Provide technical leadership and guidance to performance engineers
Participate in hands-on Performance Engineering
Understand the health of the releases
Keep on top of performance issues (make sure that production performance issues are investigated and prioritized)
Empower the development team, making it easy for developers to proactively run performance tests and analyze results
Regular and timely updates on performance for the executive team
Be a person of contact for services and support on production issues who is able to communicate directly with customers

The Role

We are looking for a Performance Engineering Lead to lead a team of highly skilled performance engineers. You are comfortable working in a rapid, agile environment and thrive when challenged with solving complex problems. In this role, your focus will be ensuring Veeva’s products are delivered to our customers quickly and with the best quality and performance possible.

What You’ll Do
