Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree is preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 4 years of progressive full-cycle recruitment experience is required.
  • Experience working in a high-volume or fast-paced hiring environment is required.
  • Experience using an applicant tracking system is required; Workable experience is a plus.
  • Developing and executing sourcing strategies across multiple channels is required.
  • Managing multiple requisitions and priorities in a fast-paced environment is required.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication and relationship-building skills are required.
  • Strong organization, time management, and follow-through are required.
  • Handling sensitive and confidential information professionally is required.
  • A proactive problem-solving and customer-service mindset is required.
Responsibilities
  • Manage full-cycle recruitment for an assigned client group across Promise Academy.
  • Build and maintain trust-based relationships with hiring managers and school leadership to define hiring needs, job descriptions, and candidate profiles.
  • Develop and execute targeted sourcing strategies to attract diverse, high-quality talent.
  • Advise hiring managers on market trends, candidate expectations, and hiring best practices.
  • Facilitate regular check-in meetings with school leadership to track progress, address hiring challenges, and adjust strategies.
  • Source candidates through job boards, social media, professional networks, referrals, and recruitment events.
  • Build and maintain talent pipelines for high-volume and hard-to-fill roles, including engaging passive candidates and nurturing long-term talent pools within the applicant tracking system.
  • Represent HCZ at hiring fairs, networking events, and school-based recruitment initiatives.
  • Screen and assess candidates for alignment with role requirements and organizational values.
  • Guide candidates through the interview process and maintain clear communication throughout.
  • Partner with the Talent Acquisition Coordinator to facilitate interview logistics.
  • Prepare hiring teams with interview frameworks, rubrics, scorecards, and best practices.
  • Partner with school leadership to draft, review, and finalize offer letters and secure approvals before extending offers.
  • Lead offer processes, including compensation discussions, negotiations, and closing candidates.
  • Conduct reference checks in partnership with Human Resources and ensure pre-employment requirements are completed.
  • Maintain proactive communication with candidates, stakeholders, and hiring managers regarding staffing needs and timelines.
  • Serve as an ambassador of HCZ and strengthen employer brand and external partnerships.
  • Track and manage recruitment activity within Workable or a similar applicant tracking system.
  • Monitor hiring metrics, pipeline health, and time-to-fill goals.
  • Identify opportunities to improve recruitment processes, workflows, and candidate experience.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and distribute recruitment communications and marketing materials supporting hiring initiatives.
  • Support career fairs, information sessions, and interview days.

Posted Monday, July 27, 2026 2:00 pm Juanita Powell-Brunson | The New York Times I am excited to share that Aubrey Armstrong has joined Newsroom Operations as an executive assistant. In this critical role, she will support Solana Pyne and Charlotte Greensit as the newsroom's video expansion continues to scale in complexity and output. Most recently Aubrey was an operations and project manager at Harlem Children's Zone in New York. She holds a B.A. in anthropology from the University of Texas at Austin and a master's in sociology from Arizona State University. She is endlessly curious and considers learning a lifelong pursuit. Outside of work, Aubrey enjoys baking and sharing the results with friends, running, walking outdoors, and taking barre pilates classes. She also loves getting creative through sewing, jewelry-making, photography and floral design, and is always working on a handmade gift for someone. She is an avid reader, a fan of live performances, a board game enthusiast, and loves hunting down the city's best bakeries - always accompanied by her Australian shepherd.
