Solutions Engineer

We are looking for a Solutions Engineer to join our rapidly growing team. You will be responsible for helping customers design, implement, and manage their Tailscale deployment and ensure their business objectives are met. You will work closely with sales and customer success teams to provide technical expertise and collaborate with marketing, product, and support as needed.

Core Responsibilities:

• Work closely with sales team to identify new opportunities and help close deals
• Communicate Tailscale’s value based on customer inputs and with work sales team to identify and resolve issues and concerns
• Provide technical expertise in the form of sales presentations, demonstrations, and supporting proof-of-concepts
• Provide feedback to product and engineering teams on customer needs and product improvements
• Own technical engagement with customers from pre-sales to deployment/implementation and ongoing relationship
• Stay up-to-date on the latest cloud, network, and security technologies and trends

It’s nice if you have:

• Experience in a devtool software company
• Experience in Network Security
• Experience working in a software startup environment
• Experience writing project plans collaboratively with customers 

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in a technical customer-facing role such as a Solutions Engineer, Sales Engineer, or similar
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Experience in systems administration and troubleshooting: Linux, Mac, or Windows
• Familiar with networking and security concepts
• Desire to learn programming/scripting skills in Bash, Go, TypeScript, HCL, etc.
