Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree is required.
  • A minimum of 1–2 years of professional work experience is required.
  • Prior experience advising, coaching, teaching, or facilitating in one-on-one or group settings is required.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and professional communication skills, attention to detail, and demonstrated problem-solving ability are required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams, and Google Suite is required.
  • The ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across multiple departments and colleges is required.
  • Comfort presenting to diverse audiences and a demonstrated commitment to fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment are required.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as a resource for College of Science and College of Arts, Media and Design students seeking co-op experiences by supporting job-search strategy and application preparation, including additional support for repeat searchers and students with early deadlines, and provide first-line program coverage in the absence of Co-op Faculty.
  • Conduct resume reviews, mock interviews, LinkedIn profile reviews, and co-op preparation appointments for students across both colleges.
  • Coach students pursuing self-developed co-ops outside Northeastern’s database through available platforms and the vetting, approval, and registration process.
  • Support students pursuing global co-op opportunities, including preparation advising, pre-departure meetings, coordination with the Office of Global Services on visa and employment authorization, and ongoing engagement throughout the global co-op experience.
  • Facilitate outreach and check-ins with repeat searchers and global co-op students, escalating concerns to Co-op Faculty for follow-up and direct student engagement as appropriate.
  • Support the Career Peer Advisor program through coordination, supervision, and training in coordination with the lead Co-op Coordinator.
  • Assist Co-op Faculty with co-op preparation course curriculum updates and Canvas course management as needed.
  • Update co-op coordinators with student status updates and comments, specifically after mock interview sessions.
  • Provide planned or unplanned coverage for co-op coordinators who are out of office.
  • Coordinate logistics for employer engagement activities, including on-campus visits, employer spotlights, and site visit events, serving as the primary point of contact for scheduling, materials, and follow-through.
  • Coordinate student nominations of supervisors for employer recognition initiatives, compile recipient information, and collaborate with communications staff on certificates and employer outreach.
  • Assist Co-op Coordinators with preparing and facilitating co-op workshops, information sessions, and student-facing events throughout the co-op cycle.
  • Manage co-op program communications to students and employers, including announcements for recruitment deadlines, interview schedules, and program events.
  • Maintain and update co-op SharePoint resources, internal team documentation, student-facing web content, and the co-op resource library.
  • Contribute to curriculum and resource development for co-op preparation courses and first-year experiential learning programs.
  • Run and distribute NUworks reports in collaboration with the centralized data team, review midpoint evaluations, reflection completion, pulse checks, and application activity, and identify concerns for follow-up by Co-op Coordinators.
  • Support scholarship coordination, including collecting application materials, organizing review committees, and completing necessary student employment paperwork.
  • Provide operational support for course enrollment monitoring, CourseLeaf planning, and work-study student coordination as assigned.
  • Develop and maintain the MS List Student Tracker as needed.
  • Provide purchasing and budget management support on an as-assigned basis in coordination with Co-op leadership.
  • Support college and university initiatives, contribute to committee work, and assist with special projects.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts for program workflows, processes, and student experience.
  • Support additional college-specific functions and cross-college initiatives as directed by the university-wide co-op program.
  • Shift college assignment based on the business needs of the university-wide co-op program.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in higher education, career services, human resources, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with cooperative education and/or experiential learning.
  • Experience with Salesforce, Simplicity, or similar customer relationship management/advising platforms.
  • Experience with SharePoint, Canvas, or similar content management or educational instruction tools.
  • Experience developing or facilitating career development workshops and resources.
  • Experience with data reporting, including basic report interpretation and communicating key findings.
  • Knowledge of Curricular Practical Training, visa support processes, or international student employment authorization.
  • Budget management or financial reconciliation experience; familiarity with Concur or similar expense management platforms.
  • Familiarity with administering peer mentoring or peer advising programs, work-study programs, or supervising students.
  • Familiarity with supporting global education programs or working with international student populations.
