Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience deploying Lean methodologies in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience managing and leading others, ideally in a matrix organization.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead initiatives end to end.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results through influence rather than direct authority.
  • Solid working knowledge of Lean Six Sigma tools and methodologies.
  • Understanding of financial statements and manufacturing cost drivers.
  • Experience with coaching, training, and capability development.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to adapt messaging from the shop floor to senior leadership.
  • High level of computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Fluency in English.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and support Manufacturing Excellence Managers in deploying a standardized Lean-Based Management System across EMEA plants.
  • Define and execute deployment strategies, planning, training, coaching, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Facilitate change management and ensure effective adoption and long-term sustainment of Lean thinking.
  • Identify, clarify, and remove barriers to operational excellence within manufacturing plants and regional production groups.
  • Lead multiple strategic and operational improvement projects from identification and analysis through implementation and sustainable execution.
  • Deliver measurable manufacturing cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Drive the continuous evolution of the Manufacturing Excellence Model to improve competitiveness in cost, quality, and service.
  • Partner with leadership to define, scope, launch, and deliver initiatives aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Make complex decisions and recommendations with limited direction, using sound judgment and initiative.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders across the regional manufacturing organization.
  • Proactively manage risk and communicate project progress, results, challenges, and lessons learned.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing, best practice exchange, and benchmarking within the region and across Continuous Improvement networks.

Ball Corporation has appointed Darlene J. Nicosia and Sherry L. Buck to its board of directors. Nicosia is CEO of Maker's Pride, a US contract packaged food manufacturer, bringing over 30 years of operational experience from roles at Coca-Cola, PepsiCo and Kraft Foods Group. She will serve on the Nominating/Corporate Governance Committee and Finance Committee. Buck retired as chief financial officer of W. L. Gore & Associates in 2025 after five years in the role. She previously held CFO positions at Waters Corporation and Libbey, and spent nearly two decades at Whirlpool Corporation. Buck will join the Audit Committee and Finance Committee. Two Luzerne County firms secure $860K in state energy grants to cut costs and emissions

Two Luzerne County businesses will receive more than $860,000 in state grants for energy efficiency projects. The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection awarded Ball Corporation $365,268 and A Rifken Company $495,000 through the RISE PA programme. Ball Corporation will install equipment to capture waste heat for manufacturing, projected to save approximately $75,697 annually. A Rifken Company will replace its solar system with one three times larger, expected to offset 30.4% of the facility's electricity consumption and save roughly $30,654 yearly. The awards form part of nearly $3.5 million distributed to 15 small businesses statewide. RISE PA is a $396 million emissions-reduction programme funded through the US Environmental Protection Agency's Climate Pollution Reduction Grants.

Ball reports Q2 2026 earnings up 14.4% with $1.03 diluted EPS, targets $900M free cash flow

Ball Corporation reported strong second quarter 2026 results, with comparable diluted earnings per share of $1.03, up 14.4% from 90 cents in 2025. Comparable operating earnings rose 7.7% to $433 million from $402 million year-over-year. Global aluminium packaging shipments increased 4.3% in the quarter. The company returned $222 million to shareholders through share repurchases and dividends in the first half of 2026, remaining on track to return at least $800 million by year-end. Ball expects comparable diluted earnings per share growth of more than 10% in 2026 and free cash flow exceeding $900 million. Second quarter sales reached $4.00 billion, compared to $3.34 billion in 2025. The Westminster, Colorado-based packaging company serves beverage, personal care, and household products industries globally.
