Requirements
  • Experience closing enterprise software deals in the $500K–$1M annual contract value range while running the full sales cycle independently.
  • Experience selling to technical buyers, including engineering leadership, DevOps, and IT, with credibility in deployment, infrastructure, and security discussions.
  • Experience at an early-stage company, preferably Series A or earlier, where sales infrastructure had not yet been established.
  • Understanding of product-led growth and the ability to identify when users are ready for an enterprise conversation.
  • Comfort with long deal cycles and multi-stakeholder procurement involving legal, security, compliance, and IT.
  • A structured approach to pipeline management, notes, and follow-ups.
  • Ability to write clear follow-up emails, buyer-focused proposals, and useful internal market summaries.
Responsibilities
  • Run enterprise deals end-to-end from the first inquiry through discovery, demonstrations, technical evaluation, security review, procurement, negotiation, and contract signature.
  • Convert product-led interest from self-hosted users into enterprise revenue by recognizing buying signals and guiding prospects toward deployment.
  • Navigate enterprise procurement involving security questionnaires, compliance reviews, legal redlines, multi-stakeholder approval chains, and extended timelines.
  • Discuss self-hosted deployments, air-gapped environments, single sign-on configurations, and data residency requirements with technical buyers, bringing in engineering support when needed.
  • Build and refine the sales playbook by documenting objections, deal cycles, stalled-deal patterns, and missing collateral.
  • Provide structured, actionable deal intelligence to the product team about market needs, competitors, and product gaps.

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • Plane launched commercial self-hosted AI on March 3, 2026, widening enterprise appeal.
  • The July 8, 2026 Evermuse MCP integration deepens product-led workflow stickiness.
  • May 2026 permissions, epics, and dashboards releases signal aggressive enterprise feature velocity.

What critics are saying

  • Atlassian Jira and Linear still own enterprise workflows, crushing Plane's distribution window.
  • Plane's only disclosed funding remains OSS Capital's $4 million seed from 2024.
  • If self-hosted monetization stalls, open-source free users dilute enterprise conversion before 2027.

  • Plane's open-source model pairs AGPL community adoption with commercial self-hosted licensing.
  • Plane embeds AI, Pages, dashboards, and MCP apps inside one workspace.

Plane partners with Evermuse as our newest MCP integration.

Plane partners with Evermuse as its newest MCP integration. Plane announces its partnership with Evermuse, bringing customer transcripts into Plane for a faster path from signal to action. 8 Jul, 2026 TABLE OF CONTENT Plane is excited to announce its partnership with Evermuse, bringing real customer signals directly into your workspace. The Evermuse MCP is now available to Plane customers through its marketplace. What this means for Plane users. Plane users can query Evermuse call transcripts, and bring customer insights directly in Plane and turn them into actionable work items without leaving their workflow. What the integration does. The partnership runs both directions. From Evermuse into Plane, any suggestion generated from a call, whether it is a feature request, a bug repro, or a follow-up action, can be pushed as a work item into the right Plane project. It arrives with the full context attached: source call, timestamped quote, customer name, and account. "At Plane, we believe great products come from great collaboration. Evermuse has built a system that actually preserves the customer's voice all the way from the first call to the shipping of the feature. Bringing that into Plane feels less like an integration and more like the missing piece. We're delighted to finally have it, and even more delighted to make it available to every Plane customer." - Gaurav Chanchal, VP Product, Plane From Plane into Evermuse, Plane AI queries the Evermuse MCP directly. You can ask questions like "what have Enterprise customers said about SSO in the last 60 days" or "which accounts mentioned our reporting workflow this quarter" and get answers grounded in real call data, inside the same workspace where you plan and ship. Built on a shared belief. "Plane is where the work happens, and Evermuse makes sure the customer is in the room when it does. Together, we've connected the two things that should never have been separate: the voice of the customer and the work itself. Every quote, every pain point, every pattern, now lives where your team plans and builds. That's what this partnership is about." - Zack Drew, Co-Founder & Head of Growth, Evermuse Get started. The Evermuse MCP is available today in the Plane marketplace. Existing Evermuse customers can connect their workspace in a few minutes. Every team, every use case, the right momentum. Hundreds of Jira, Linear, Asana, and ClickUp customers have rediscovered the joy of work. Plane'd love to help you do that, too.
