Requirements
  • Significant (5+ years of) technical sales experience in data acquisition, test & measurement, or technology space
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Science with a business/marketing aptitude or Bachelor’s in Business with work experience in a technical sales field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of time
  • Strong interest and excitement in promoting and demonstrating technology products
  • Demonstrated record of managing a territory and being responsive to quickly deliver on business needs
  • History of influencing customers and marshaling internal resources to efficiently capture and process a PO
  • Ability to identify influencers, budget, timeline, competition, etc to navigate a customer to a final order
  • Technically astute with an ability to acquire extensive product and application knowledge, with an ability to assess, and provide solutions for, customer design challenges/needs
  • Self-motivated and driven to identify, qualify and pursue new customers and new markets
  • Strong oral and written communications to provide high level customer service and build relationships
  • Organizational skills to anticipate, prioritize, plan, organize to meet and exceed strategic objectives
  • Track record of leading customer facing engagements to generate new demand and ensure territory/region success
  • Demonstrated ability in account/business planning to deliver on revenue goals
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, CRM tools
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for achieving/exceeding a defined sales target for the Midwest territory
  • Develop and implement sales plan and growth strategy to achieve sales targets at customer sites and region
  • Schedule travel to support customer visits and field events, representing FLIR as the expert in thermography and IR imagery for R&D
  • Prospect for new sales opportunities, cultivate sales leads, qualify customer opportunities, and schedule customer site visits for technical product demonstrations
  • Manage opportunity pipeline in CRM for continuous progress and accuracy
  • Identify and develop relationships with key contacts at Commercial, University, and Defense-related research sites
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the market and competition in the Midwest territory
  • Familiarize and then develop expertise with FLIR cameras and software
  • Bring your experience in data acquisition or test and measurement to communicate how infrared measurements will achieve customer application requirements
  • Bring your experience with successful sales tools and techniques for efficient customer support/engagement and opportunity development
  • Capture market and key application information, document, and share with the broader team (Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Product Management, etc). Recommend associated new product features and capabilities for a better customer experience
  • Support large trade shows and other field events alongside Teledyne Digital Imaging colleagues to promote FLIR cameras and software in target vertical markets
  • Work with the team to provide technical support to existing research and science customers
