  • Master’s degree or above.
  • At least two years of teaching experience at the instructor level or above.
  • At least two years of academic administration experience.
  • At least two years of supervisory experience.
Responsibilities
  • Assist the Dean with the day-to-day work within the Academic Affairs department and advise the Dean on daily operations of the Academic Affairs division.
  • Assist in the strategic development, implementation, and evaluation of academic programs, ensuring alignment with institutional goals and accreditation standards.
  • Lead initiatives to refresh existing curriculum and introduce new curriculum or programmatic activities, focusing on Alaska workforce needs.
  • Facilitate work with faculty and consultants on developing curriculum and micro-credentials.
  • Supervise current adjunct faculty, including onboarding, supporting course management, and conducting regular evaluation processes.
  • Recruit and hire adjunct faculty as needed.
  • Support the Dean and faculty by managing and assisting with degree and course assessment, and institute and model assessment best practices with faculty.
  • Assist with accreditation activities and compliance, and help build a culture of data-informed decision-making.
  • Support course scheduling, the academic calendar, classroom-use coordination, and other administrative tasks.
  • Lead special initiatives and serve as a grant project director with oversight of Academic Affairs grants as assigned.
  • Coach and mentor faculty, adjunct faculty, and staff as directed by the Dean.
  • Review, develop, and implement instructional policies and procedures with the Dean, and ensure compliance with institution-wide policies.
  • Ensure clear, frequent, and effective communication with faculty, staff, students, and institutional stakeholders.
  • Prepare data, presentations, and reports as requested.
  • Collaborate with Student Services to strengthen student recruitment, advising, and retention activities.
  • Attend academic and community events as needed.
  • Serve as Acting Dean of Academic Affairs in the Dean’s absence.
  • Comply with College policies, procedures, administrative directives, and applicable laws, regulations, and ordinances.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • At least one year of experience developing or managing micro-credential programs.
  • Accreditation experience in a higher education institutional setting.
  • PhD or equivalent terminal degree.
  • Valid driver’s license.
