- At least 4 years of experience in AI/ML, data science, or applied AI engineering, including hands-on work with large language models in production or near-production settings.
- Strong Python skills and familiarity with modern artificial intelligence tooling, retrieval-augmented generation, embeddings, vector stores, and at least one major large language model provider or framework.
- Ability to lead client working sessions, explain trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders, and manage scope.
- Fluent English and consistent overlap with United States business hours.
- Scope, design, and deliver applied artificial intelligence solutions, including large language model workflows, retrieval-augmented generation systems, agentic automation, and model evaluation, integrated into client and business systems.
- Work directly with clients through discovery, solution design, demonstrations, and delivery, translating business problems into production-ready artificial intelligence solutions.
- Define patterns and specifications for the prompt-development pod and review and guide its production builds.
- Establish evaluation criteria and measure solution quality, accuracy, and return on investment.
- Advise clients on artificial intelligence readiness, data, and responsible, safe deployment.
- Contribute to reusable artificial intelligence accelerators and go-to-market offerings.
- Consulting or professional-services background.
- Exposure to enterprise resource planning or customer relationship management platforms such as NetSuite and Salesforce, or finance and operations data.
- Experience establishing evaluation, observability, or guardrail frameworks.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, and with machine learning operations.

The office will be led by Justin Kay, a BPM partner with 20 years of experience in the region. The team will provide tax, assurance, advisory and wealth management services to clients across Southern California. BPM plans to continue hiring throughout 2026 across multiple disciplines. The San Diego location reflects the firm's broader strategy of building a national platform, following recent office additions and service line expansions. The firm operates domestically and internationally as a Certified B Corp.
