Role and Responsibilities
As a GPU Verification Engineer, you will drive the verification efforts of Samsung’s advanced GPU design to deliver market-leading standards of quality and reliability. In close collaboration with architects, design engineers, and other verification team members, you will lead the development of comprehensive verification strategies and methodologies.
- You have strong expertise in many GPU or related semiconductor verification areas. You will lead and develop verification plans based on Samsung’s GPU architecture specifications and design requirements. You will define verification strategies, methodologies, and metrics to ensure thorough validation of the GPU functionality.
- You are an innovator. You will lead the development of advanced verification environments and testbenches using SystemVerilog and UVM (Universal Verification Methodology). You will implement constrained random testing, coverage-driven verification, and assertion-based verification techniques.
- You enjoy solving challenging problems and ensuring comprehensive functional and performance coverage by creating complex test scenarios and test cases to validate GPU features, performance, and functionality.
- You are skilled at debugging efforts to identify and resolve design issues and performance bottlenecks. You will drive cross-functional collaboration with design and software teams to analyze failures and implement corrective actions.
- You have a curious mindset that thrives on challenging past practices and navigating the unknown through innovation. You will implement automation scripts and tools to streamline verification processes, improve efficiency, and reduce time-to-market.
- You are goal-oriented and will drive teams to work towards verification closure by achieving coverage goals (functional coverage, code coverage, etc.) and sign-off criteria. Generate comprehensive verification reports and documentation.
Skills and Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering, or 8+ years of experience with a Master’s Degree, or 6+ years of experience with a Ph.D.
- 10+ years of experience in GPU verification or related semiconductor role.
- Proficiency in SystemVerilog, UVM, and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Perl).
- Strong understanding of GPU architecture, graphics pipelines, and parallel processing.
- Experience with industry-standard verification tools and methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with general purpose Object Oriented Programming using C++/Java
- Experience with performance profiling and analysis
- Hardware modeling experience
- Knowledge of Graphics API: Vulcan, GLES, OpenCL
Our Team
The GPU Design Verification team at SARC/ACL owns test plan coverage for Samsung’s mobile GPU through three levels: Graphic Code, Subsystem Verification, and Formal Verification. As a geographically dispersed team, we collaborate and interact with other internal teams to ensure GPU architectural designs and modules within the GPU work well across the board.

Pay Transparency
At Samsung – SARC/ACL, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $144,345.00 and $257,336.00 . Your actual base pay will depend on variables that may include your education skills, qualifications, experience, and work location.

In addition, regular full-time employees (salaried or hourly) are eligible for MBO bonus compensation, based on company, division, and individual performance.
Additionally, this role might be eligible to participate in long term incentive plan and relocation.
