  • Hands-on experience with the pros and cons of different biomarker assay platforms (eg. Luminex, MesoScale Discovery and/or SIMOA) is preferred.
  • Exosome purification in humans and non-clinical species is a plus
  • Experience working with human biospecimens is a plus
  • Demonstrates solid level of understanding project / group goals and methods
  • Consistently recognizes anomalous and inconsistent results and interprets experimental outcomes
  • Able to explain the process behind the data and implications of the results
  • Strong knowledge of one or more scientific disciplines, becoming expert in one discipline
  • Strong knowledge of scientific principles, methods and techniques

Responsibilities
  • Designs, develops, and performs robust "fit-for-purpose" clinical biomarker assays
  • Identifies and evaluates new technologies to support evolving translational biomarker strategies
  • Capacity to perform lab work independently and direct the outsourcing of studies to CROs.
  • Assists in the transition of biomarker assays from Basic Research to Clinical use by providing technical guidance on assay validation.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert in immunoassay-based assay development and validation, collaborating with project teams, biomarker leaders, clinical operations and regulatory affairs on the implementation of these assays in clinical trials.
  • Collaborates with external academic and industry experts to expand Neurocrine’s knowledge base in biofluid biomarkers
  • Generates and works with complex data sets, with a strong understanding of advanced data analysis and statistical tests
  • Maintains and updates SOPs and writes data summaries for experiments conducted.
  • Reviews, comprehends, and complies with all SOP’s, and safety and quality assurance standards at all times.
  • Provides training and/or supervision to junior staff, as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
