Hagerty focuses on classic and collector cars, offering specialized insurance, valuation tools, and a strong membership-based community. Its insurance policies are tailored to the unique value and usage of vintage vehicles, often delivering competitive rates and better coverage than standard auto insurance. Beyond insurance, Hagerty earns revenue from a membership program that provides roadside assistance, exclusive events, and discounts, plus partnerships with automotive brands. Valuation tools help owners determine the market value of collectibles, while content and online events engage the community and attract new clients. The company's differentiator is its narrow focus on classic cars, deep community engagement, and integrated ecosystem of insurance, valuation, and member perks. Hagerty aims to be the leading provider for classic car owners by building a loyal, active community and offering targeted services that treat vehicles as investments and pieces of history.

The company added 371,000 new members, grew written premiums 14%, and increased operating cash flow 24% to $219 million, with 89% fourth-quarter retention. The company signed a new fronting agreement with Markel to retain 100% of premium, expected to boost long-term underwriting profitability. However, the deal creates approximately $190 million in non-cash amortisation in 2026, leading to guidance of negative GAAP net income of $41 million to $51 million, whilst adjusted EBITDA is forecast at $236 million to $247 million. Growth is driven by distribution partnerships with State Farm and Liberty Mutual, alongside a rapidly expanding Marketplace division. Marketplace revenue more than doubled in 2025, rising 119% to $119 million.
Hagerty, a specialty vehicle insurance provider, reported full-year 2025 revenue of $1.46 billion, up 17% year-over-year, driven by 14% growth in written premiums to $1.19 billion. The company added a record 371,000 new members during the year. Net income surged 91% to $149 million, whilst adjusted EBITDA increased 46% to $237 million. Marketplace revenue jumped 119% to $119 million, primarily from private sales growth and European expansion. For 2026, Hagerty expects written premium growth of 15% to 16%. The company is transitioning to a 100% quota share arrangement with partner Markel, retaining all premium and risk from underwriting. However, this change will result in approximately $190 million in transitional costs, leading to a projected net loss of $41 million to $51 million for 2026.
