Civil Design Engineer @ Verra Mobility

Position Overview

The Civil Design Engineer - Traffic will work with Design & Engineering team to design engineering drawings primarily related to red light, speed and bus lane camera systems. This work will require high proficiency with AutoCAD software, working well with design and inner departmental support teams to complete construction drawings and management of resubmittals addressing comments meeting various state and municipal requirements. Verra Mobility is looking for an individual that is a team player who is highly motivated.

Essential Responsibilities

Must have excellent organization skills, flexibility and the ability to multi-task with efficiency
Must have good working knowledge of plan preparation and quality assurance practices
Must be able to read engineering plans and engineering documents
Prepare detailed drawings for approval for local municipalities throughout North America
Prepare design plans for signing and pavement markings, traffic signals, and temporary traffic control
Organizing project drawings, specifications and other types of construction documents
Able to self-sufficiently complete various tasks and duties including but not limited to research, data collection, field investigations, development, and design of projects.
Maintain database of drawings, details and engineering documents. Support the overall planning and development process of construction projects
Support work with field technicians and/or external contractors during the construction and power phase of proposed installations and support completion of final record drawings that are accepted and implemented for camera installations
Administrative support reviewing permitting authority comments, aggregating those comments in a central location, and modifying plan sets to address all conditions received from permitting authorities
Quality assurance evaluation of completed drawings in accordance with the CRQ document drafted with the client to ensure full compliance with requirements
Excellent communication, organizational and analytical skills
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 4 years of relevant experience
Experience with ITS systems design preferred
Highly proficient with design of construction drawings using AutoCAD
Ability to support the team and function successfully within a fast-paced environment
Travel: Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
