Requirements
  • MD, DO, or PhD degree.
  • Board eligibility or certification in plastic surgery through the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
  • Valid Drug Enforcement Administration registration and Florida medical license.
  • Strong medical knowledge and application of professional principles.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Commitment to patient care, education, and clinical research.
Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical care in plastic surgery, including breast reconstruction, microvascular surgery, and lymphatic reconstruction.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes and consult on complex cases.
  • Educate and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows through lectures, workshops, and hands-on training.
  • Conduct original research, publish in peer-reviewed journals, and present findings at national and international conferences.
  • Participate in departmental and institutional committees, academic initiatives, and strategic planning.
  • Engage with the local community to raise awareness about plastic surgery and promote health and wellness initiatives.
  • Attend conferences, workshops, and continuing education courses to remain current with advances in plastic surgery.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with institutional colleagues and other healthcare organizations.
  • Participate in quality improvement and quality assurance initiatives focused on patient safety, satisfaction, and outcomes.
  • Fulfill administrative duties related to academic appointments, hospital credentialing, clinical documentation, and institutional policies and procedures.
  • Participate in on-call schedules, conduct outpatient clinics, coordinate inpatient care and surgeries, and collaborate with hospital personnel on clinical effectiveness and quality initiatives.
  • Pursue professional development opportunities, obtain additional certifications, and participate in leadership training programs.
Desired Qualifications
  • Proficiency in Spanish.
  • Post-training clinical experience in plastic and reconstructive surgery, with a preferred range of 0 to 10 years.
