Weyerhaeuser manages millions of acres of timberlands to produce wood products and develop renewable energy and carbon solutions. The company harvests timber from its private forests to supply construction and paper industries while generating additional revenue through carbon credits and conservation banking. Unlike many competitors, it operates as one of the largest private landholders in the United States, allowing it to integrate land ownership with large-scale sustainable forestry and environmental services. Its goal is to maximize the long-term value of every acre it manages through responsible land use and diverse forest-based products.

Weyerhaeuser brings new distribution center, jobs and a $10M investment to Gallatin's workforce. The wood products company is building a 100,000-square-foot facility, bringing 20 jobs and a $10 million investment to the city by the end of 2026 Weyerhaeuser is opening a new distribution center in Gallatin, bringing 20 jobs and a $10 million investment to the city by the end of 2026. Posted 5:17 PM, Apr 01, 2026 GALLATIN, Tenn. (WTVF) - A major wood products company is moving into Gallatin, promising jobs, investment and growth for the city's workforce. Weyerhaeuser is building a distribution center on nearly 14 acres along Rappahannock Wire Road. The facility includes almost 100,000 square feet of warehouse space and six acres of outdoor yard storage. Officials expect the center to be fully operational by the end of 2026, bringing about 20 jobs and a $10 million investment. "Just delighted that Weyerhaeuser chose here for a distribution center," Mayor Paige Brown said. Brown said Gallatin has one of the lowest unemployment rates in Tennessee. "Here in Gallatin it's under 3%. So when we seek companies to invest in our community, we want them for their capital investment, their contribution to their tax base, the culture that they bring, and the opportunities that they bring," Brown said. The city targets businesses that add value without pulling workers from other local employers. Companies like Weyerhaeuser fit the strategy for high-quality jobs with a small number of employees, similar to Mohawk Textiles next door. Mohawk Textiles Director of Operations Blaine Harvey said he believes Gallatin's infrastructure is prepared to handle new business. "Quality of life is definitely one of the main drivers, but also financially, Tennessee is very business friendly. It's obviously more opportunities for people for employment and just another draw for people coming here," Harvey said. "I know that as far as the infrastructure goes, the roadway system, you know, being able to handle the extra traffic... as far as electric, gas, power, water - I think we're well suited to handle that growth," Harvey said. With more companies setting up, the city hopes to continue strengthening its industrial identity. Weyerhaeuser shares trade 35% below analyst target despite 52.5x P/E raising valuation concerns

Weyerhaeuser, a timberlands and wood products company, is trading at $23.60 after posting $6.9 billion in 2025 net sales and $324 million in net income. The stock has delivered a 17.46% one-year total return but experienced a 5.18% decline over the past 30 days. The most popular analyst narrative suggests the stock is 25.8% undervalued, with a fair value target of $31.82. This outlook relies on growth from a carbon capture agreement with Occidental Petroleum and increased production from new and reopened facilities. However, conflicting signals emerge from valuation metrics. Weyerhaeuser trades at a P/E ratio of 52.5x, nearly double the 26.4x average for North American specialised REITs. The company faces risks from weak housing-related lumber demand and potential trade restrictions on international log markets.
