Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • At least 5 years of advanced knowledge of fossil fuel power station operations is required.
  • Proficiency with computer programs such as Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint is required.
  • The position requires working on feet for extended hours and working varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • The ability to frequently climb stairs and ladders, work from elevated platforms and walkways at elevations of 75 feet or more is required.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee production at Kincaid Power Station to ensure safe, environmentally responsible, reliable, efficient, and economical electricity generation.
  • Ensure the station operates within local, company, state, and federal regulations and policies.
  • Perform general leadership and administrative duties, including employee performance assessment and counseling, safety, and training.
  • Lead the implementation of policies, procedures, and work methods for Control Room Operators and other assigned personnel.
  • Apply a thorough understanding of safety policies and programs and environmental and regulatory policies and requirements.
  • Work outdoors in adverse weather conditions while exposed to heat, cold, operating machinery, energized wires, loud noise, dust, grease, oil, and fumes.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment, including hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, respirators, chemical suits, high-voltage protective equipment, and firefighter gear.
  • Coordinate Operations activities with other departments at the station.
  • Set and communicate performance and professionalism standards.
  • Work a rotating shift.
Desired Qualifications
  • Two years' experience in a supervisor position, preferably in a union environment.
  • An Associate's Degree related to power plants or another relevant industry, a technical degree, or relevant military experience.
  • Previous experience involving leadership, problem solving, negotiating, computer skills, and effective communication skills.
  • Operating experience with B&W cyclone UP boilers and Westinghouse turbine generators.
  • Previous experience as a Power Plant Control Room Operator.

Or follow us on Google NewsFord and TXU Energy announced this week they have teamed up to create a first-of-its-kind retail energy offering for Ford electric SUV and truck customers in Texas. The TXU Free EV Miles program offers Ford EV drivers the opportunity to charge their vehicle at home entirely for free, since more than 80 percent of charging takes place at home. Ford EV customers will get a credit on their TXU Energy bill for all home energy used for vehicle charging during the free charging hours — 7:00 pm to 1:00 pm the following day — all year long.Ford says it is using this opportunity to educate Texans about the benefits of driving electric while incentivizing consumers to charge when demand on the grid is at its lowest. The program is designed for flexibility, giving customers 18 hours a day to charge for free. With easy charging scheduling through the Preferred Charge Times feature in the FordPass app or by using their in-vehicle touchscreen, Ford electric SUV and truck drivers can ensure charging only occurs within TXU Energy’s free hours
