Requirements
  • 5+ years of software engineering, machine learning, data science, or total equivalent experience
  • Strong experience in Machine Learning, Computer Vision, and/or Signal Processing
  • Solid experience with Natural-language processing (NLP)
  • Ability to write clean, concise, tested, maintainable code in Python
  • Experience with a strongly typed programming language (Rust, Go, C, C++, C#, Java, or Python)
  • Solid production experience with Deep Learning using TensorFlow and/or PyTorch
  • Ability to design and implement machine learning pipelines in a production environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization and ability to articulate complex ideas without complexity
  • Grasp of both business operational and technical/engineering concepts backed by problem-solving skills to help drive technical decisions
  • Experience in Agile practices and promoting Agile development techniques such as TDD, BDD and CI/CD
  • Experience with public cloud including AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Experience helping to resolve complex technical challenges with multi-team impact
  • Experience in software product delivery and operations for large scale customer facing and mission critical products or solutions
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with strong results
  • Solutions oriented with the ability to think outside the box of conventional solutions
  • Exhibits integrity and high standards in work quality
  • Ability to take accountability for self and others to deliver results
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
Responsibilities
  • Lead large-scale or industry-leading ML product/program initiatives
  • Innovate, develop, and implement cutting-edge ML models and systems to push technological boundaries and is regarded as a thought leader
  • Contribute to the development of the company's ML strategy, focusing on customer-centric approaches
  • Evaluate and select advanced ML techniques and algorithms for complex and high-stakes use cases
  • Contribute as a senior member, providing insights and participating in decision-making processes for TCNA and global Toyota
  • Assess the operational feasibility of software requirements at scale to meet and exceed business needs
  • Perform the most advanced troubleshooting, debugging, and upgrading of existing systems using innovative methods
  • Guide the technical direction and architecture of multiple ML products and supporting infrastructure/systems
  • Lead and facilitate cross-team collaboration in system design, engineering, and architecture
  • Apply security and privacy regulations to software engineering practices, considering global and local requirements
  • Provide expertise and guidance to the team and technical staff on software designs, deployments, and solution-orientated technologies
  • Engineer large-scale solutions and actively managing open-source repositories
  • Lead and advise on project direction, including enterprise decisions, architectural design, technology solutions, and setting standards
  • Train and educate TCNA and global Toyota team members in ML techniques and technologies, advocating for their growth in this area
  • Research and develop new ML techniques/approaches
