Requirements
  • Clinical Supervisor I requires a master's degree from an accredited university in psychology, sociology, or another human-services-related field and two years of post-graduate experience delivering clinical services.
  • Clinical Supervisor II requires an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT license and five years of experience delivering clinical services.
  • Knowledge of diagnosing and treating mental illness and addictions and of counseling principles.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and demonstrate decision-making, planning, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prepare and maintain detailed and accurate records.
  • Ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with staff, professional consultants, agencies, customers, and the public.
  • Ability to understand, interpret, and apply laws, regulations, and administrative rules related to mental health and chemical dependency.
  • Ability to learn and implement procedures and requirements related to procurement, budget, safety, operations, and organization.
  • Ability to supervise and assign work to subordinates and work effectively with employees and the public.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage confidential client information in accordance with applicable rules and laws.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral formats, including exchanging routine, complex, and confidential information.
  • Must hold a valid driver's license and be insurable or carry insurance for client-service purposes and business travel.
  • Must pass required criminal-history checks, including checks under applicable Oregon statutes and administrative rules.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Must maintain personal auto insurance with at least $300,000 liability coverage for bodily injury and $100,000 property-damage coverage when using a personal vehicle for agency business.
  • Must have excellent typing skills and knowledge of basic office software programs.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift or move up to 30 pounds and work in office, community, client-home, and crisis environments.
  • Must be available for on-call rotation and occasional out-of-area travel and overnight stays for meetings and training.
Responsibilities
  • Provide daily and regular clinical supervision and oversight to assigned clinicians and Qualified Mental Health Associates.
  • Ensure clinical care meets high standards and is consistent with agency philosophy and policy.
  • Ensure clinicians are informed about and implement current evidence-based practices and that clinical outcomes meet agency standards.
  • Ensure clinical staff paperwork is completed professionally and promptly and provide supervision when standards are not met.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation at Lakeview Heights and potentially in the crisis-services rotation.
  • Recruit, hire, and train new staff; provide supervision; conduct performance evaluations; and follow policies for discipline and termination when necessary.
  • Resolve conflicts and provide positive leadership, consulting with administration and human resources on disciplinary actions when needed.
  • Report abuse or neglect to the proper agency, complete required follow-up and investigative reports, and implement safety plans.
  • Initiate holds, conduct civil-commitment investigations, and coordinate with hospitals, case workers, the state, and other agencies in the civil-commitment process.
  • Schedule and participate in meetings with other agencies to support continuity of service delivery.
  • Maintain a caseload and provide individual, group, and family counseling services.
  • Follow the grievance process for consumer complaints and work to resolve complaints.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Oregon Administrative Rules and clinical contractual requirements.
  • Ensure clients are scheduled in a timely manner.
  • Oversee clinical staff coverage for vacations, sick leave, and training.
  • Coordinate prescriber schedules and medical treatment with contracted prescribers.
  • Work with the Quality Assurance Coordinator to ensure clinicians meet quality-assurance standards.
  • Participate in internal administrative meetings when requested and hold regular clinical staff meetings.
  • Communicate with the public about agency services and speak with groups about mental health and alcohol/drug programs.
  • Serve on community boards or committees related to program services.
  • Assist the Facility Administrator in ensuring that the equine-assisted therapy program operates appropriately and provide program directives.
  • Transport clients as needed.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
Desired Qualifications
  • Preferred supervisor experience for the Clinical Supervisor I position.
  • Prefer three years of supervisory experience in a related field for Clinical Supervisor II.
