Requirements
  • At least 3–5 years of experience in pharmaceuticals, including 2–4 years of analytical testing experience.

  • Knowledge of United States Pharmacopeia, International Council for Harmonisation, and the United States Food and Drug Administration.
  • A minimum Bachelor of Science degree in a scientific field.

Responsibilities
  • Perform physical, chemical, and instrumental tests on raw materials, active pharmaceutical ingredients, in-process samples, finished products, and stability products using wet chemistry and instrumental techniques including high-performance liquid chromatography, gas chromatography, ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy, infrared spectroscopy, particle size analysis, Karl Fischer autotitration, and bulk density testing, according to United States Pharmacopeia, in-house, or other compendial monographs.
  • Plan and maintain adequate inventories of test reagents and solutions, and ensure supplies are ordered as needed.
  • Plan and execute testing to meet established timelines, performing complicated testing with supervisory direction.
  • Record data and results according to documentation procedures, document work clearly, and perform tests accurately.
  • Prepare and review test procedures, standard operating procedures, and protocols as assigned.
  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment with supervisory direction or training.
  • Perform troubleshooting and investigations under the direction of a supervisor.
  • Comply with safety, housekeeping, laboratory chemical-waste, current Good Manufacturing Practice, current Good Laboratory Practice, documentation, and other regulatory or in-house requirements.
  • Review analytical documents as required.
