Requirements
  • A master's degree or equivalent is acceptable.
  • A Licensed Speech Pathologist license is required at hire.
  • Integrative Agitation Management certification is required within 30 days of hire.
  • Measles, mumps, varicella, and annual influenza immunizations are required as a condition of employment.
Responsibilities
  • Provide audiological services, screening, diagnostic services, and rehabilitation.
  • Provide hearing-aid services, including hearing-aid evaluations, counseling patients and families regarding evaluation results, hearing-aid counseling, electroacoustic and real-ear testing, troubleshooting hearing-aid failures, adjusting hearing aids, setting programmable instruments and related hardware and software, and taking earmold impressions and modifying earmolds.
  • Provide services to patients of all ages, including hearing screening in the Intensive Care Nursery, auditory brainstem evaluation of pediatric patients, otoacoustic emissions testing, and other age-specific or functional-specific procedures.
  • Consult with physicians, teachers, parents, and others regarding results and recommendations.
  • Prepare formal written reports for physicians and other referral sources.
  • Respond to community requests for information related to hearing, hearing loss, and offered services.
  • Attend staff meetings.
  • Provide information to the Coordinator about unusual patient contacts.
  • Exchange information with other staff regarding mutual patients.
  • Respond to convalescent, rehabilitation, and acute hospitals for requested out-of-office visits.
  • Provide five hours of billable patient contact per day.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Doctor of Audiology degree is preferred.
  • Two to three years of progressively responsible experience as an audiologist in an acute care hospital or healthcare setting is preferred.
