The Role
The Buyer will report to the Head of Global Supply Management and support procurement of materials for autonomous vehicle kit production, critical R&D activities and various indirect needs. This position requires sourcing expertise, ERP system knowledge, supplier relationship skills, attention to detail, and ability to learn in unstructured environments. The Buyer builds and leverages strong working relationships with our engineering teams and key suppliers to achieve world class supply assurance, pricing, flexibility, and delivery performance for the rising demands of our business.
Duties & Key Objectives
- Own all aspects of direct, indirect and R&D purchase orders, including expediting orders as needed and following up with vendors for late PO fulfillment
- Process material purchase and requisition requests using JIRA, researching goods, services, materials, and issuing purchasing orders to vendors
- Collaborate actively with Outrider engineering, manufacturing, quality and product teams, as well as external suppliers and partners, to ensure all components and systems are ordered and delivered on time
- Partner with the various Indirect departments, such as Information Technology, Human Resources, Facilities, and G&A to support sourcing strategies for respective indirect categories
- Support inventory management and accounts payable as necessary
- Drive continual improvement of productivity
- Contribute generally to the growth and success of the Company and the building of a vibrant culture focused on the responsible deployment of zero-emission autonomous vehicle technology.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Finance or a related field; or equivalent education and work experience
- Experience using ERP based planning/purchasing software (Netsuite preferred)
- 2-years of experience in a buyer role with knowledge of Procure to Payment processes (preferred)
- Basic understanding of purchasing and inventory management principles
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written
- Attention to detail and able to multi-task
- Quick learner and able to work in an unstructured environment
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range of $61,000 - $74,000. Actual compensation is based on several factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, qualifications, experience, and specific work location due to differences in the cost of labor. In addition to a base salary, this role is also eligible for benefits, and equity.
