Requirements
  • At least 15 years of IT delivery experience for insurance platforms, preferably property and casualty insurance platforms; pet insurance experience is a plus.
  • At least 5 years of experience in senior technology leadership roles with enterprise-scale accountability.
  • Hands-on leadership experience with EIS Insurance Suite covering policy, billing, and claims.
  • Strong knowledge of core insurance system architecture, integration patterns including REST, events, and messaging, and cloud infrastructure and platform services.
  • Experience managing system integrators and offshore delivery teams.
  • Ability to communicate technical information effectively and lead stakeholders.
Responsibilities
  • Own the enterprise technical strategy, implementation, operation, and lifecycle of the EIS platform, including policy administration, billing and payments, claims management, product configuration, and rules configuration.
  • Ensure platform availability, performance, resiliency, security, scalability, and compliance with enterprise architecture standards.
  • Serve as the enterprise decision authority for core insurance platform architecture, configuration standards, and customization tradeoffs.
  • Lead technical application architecture and implementation patterns for EIS within a cloud-based, application programming interface-driven ecosystem.
  • Enforce configuration-first and upgrade-safe design principles and govern EIS’s role within the enterprise architecture.
  • Drive architectural decisions and tradeoffs balancing scalability, speed, cost, and regulatory risk.
  • Ensure EIS upgrades, patches, and migrations are executed safely and predictably.
  • Provide leadership oversight and technical direction for core-system delivery supporting new product launches, regulatory initiatives, and major platform enhancements.
  • Oversee new product implementations, rating changes, enhancements to policy, billing, and claims workflows, and regulatory, compliance, and audit-driven changes.
  • Establish and govern testing automation, performance testing, and user acceptance testing standards.
  • Ensure continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines and controlled deployment practices are implemented at scale for core systems.
  • Establish delivery governance and decision frameworks across multiple teams and vendors.
  • Own technical integrations between EIS and web and mobile digital platforms, customer relationship management platforms, payment platforms, pricing and rating engines, document generation systems, imaging systems, and data and analytics platforms.
  • Ensure integrations meet reliability, security, and observability standards.
  • Lead system integrators and contract delivery pods through technical direction, delivery governance, and performance accountability.
  • Own EIS vendor strategy, performance, and governance.
  • Set and enforce engineering standards across onshore and offshore teams.
  • Own core-platform technology, security, regulatory, and operational risk management for EIS.
  • Ensure EIS compliance with security and data privacy requirements, Sarbanes-Oxley controls, audit controls, and regulatory controls.
  • Own incident management, root cause analysis, and production stability for EIS.
  • Define, review, and act on platform health key performance indicators with executive stakeholders.
  • Participate in architecture review boards and information technology governance forums.
  • Serve as the information technology counterpart to business and product leadership for all EIS matters.
  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions and delivery plans.
  • Influence executive and senior business leadership decisions by communicating risks, constraints, and architectural tradeoffs.
  • Represent the Core Insurance Platform in enterprise architecture, risk, and planning forums.
  • Enable business agility through stable and extensible core platform capabilities.
