We have a great opportunity for an Engineering Manager to work in the web enablement space, shaping the future of our web products.

This role is situated in the Enablement space, whose mission is to offer guidance, education, and software tools to engineers across Skyscanner. These resources empower teams to effectively create and sustain high-quality products. This leads to pleasant user experiences that can adapt to changing product requirements while minimizing overall costs.

In this role, you will frequently engage with internal stakeholders, acquiring essential knowledge of Skyscanner’s technology. There is a lot of opportunity to expand and improve the web platform with an ambitious and existing roadmap ahead - If you are looking for an impactful challenge, this role is for you.

What you’ll do

• Build, lead and serve an effective team of engineers through coaching, mentoring, feedback and hands-on career development.

• Facilitate cross-functional partnerships across the company, to set the right goals and solve problems across our platform.

• Advocate and advance modern, agile engineering practices and help develop and evangelise great engineering and organisational practices.

• Grow the technical expertise of your team.

• Nurture a healthy, collaborative engineering culture in-line with our values.

Who you are

• You love developing and growing people and have experience in leading, coaching, or mentoring individuals.

• You’re passionate about engineering best practices and love to have an impact on large-scale tech problems.

• You have proven experience working in an agile development environment solving complex problems.

• You are experienced in building a collaborative environment which fosters a creative culture.

• You thrive on a high level of autonomy and responsibility.

• You have a genuine desire to build and maintain strong relationships with teams of engineers, designers and product owners to understand their needs, and aid in the resolution of their challenges.

Skyscanner is a hybrid working company. We believe when people meet regularly in person, we are better able to innovate, learn, collaborate and inspire. We ask people to be in the office on average 8 days per month.
