A. Morton Thomas and Associates, Inc., (AMT) is an ENR 500 A/E firm providing services in the disciplines of civil engineering, construction management and inspection, traffic and transportation design, water and wastewater systems, environmental and water resources, and landscape architecture. AMT is seeking a highly motivated Transportation Engineer to join our growing Team of design professionals in Raleigh, NC. Qualified candidates may range from a college graduate with 0 years of experience to a recently licensed Professional Engineer with 4+ years of experience in the transportation industry.
This individual will work under the direct supervision of a Professional Engineer on a variety of projects throughout the Carolinas, producing high-quality plans, maps, and 3D models for our clients. Duties of this position may involve collection of data, existing condition and alternative analysis evaluation for engineering reports, development of horizontal and vertical alignments, performing cross section and superelevation design, roadside barrier design, ADA curb ramp design, roadway modeling, and providing design support for erosion and sediment control plans, stormwater management plans, right-of-way plans, utility relocation plans, permit application drawings, and traffic related plans. In addition, this individual will aid in creating and submitting technical reports, specifications, and design calculations.

Qualfications
- BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution;
- Knowledge of State and Federal transportation design standards; NCDOT and/or SCDOT experience a plus;
- Engineering-in-Training Certification (or ability to obtain in 6-12 months) preferred;
- Experience with Bentley Microstation, Corridor Modeler, or Open Roads Designer (ORD)
- Knowledge of civil engineering design and construction surveying concepts preferred;
- Use of GIS applications such as ArcGIS or Google Earth a plus;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A positive attitude and a willingness to learn
