Requirements
  • Current certification as a Registered Behavior Technician issued by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board, or willingness to complete a 40-hour training course and sit for the RBT competency exam within 45 days of employment.
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Reliable transportation is required; in some cases, proof of a driver's license and valid car insurance is required.
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Willingness to obtain CPR and First Aid certification and complete a TB test if one has not been completed within the past year.
  • Ability to physically perform the job, including repeatedly getting down on the floor and standing up, lifting up to 50 pounds, and running or moving quickly when required for client interaction and safety.
  • Ability to reliably attend each scheduled therapy appointment.
  • Professional presentation and conduct are required.
  • Patience to help clients remain on task.
  • Ability to maintain emotional control when a client acts out physically or verbally.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks precisely.
  • Ability to follow and carry out detailed instructions.
  • Strong understanding of technology to record data on a mobile device and navigate digital applications.
  • Written and verbal communication skills.
  • Cultural competency and flexibility in working with clients and families.
  • Ability to complete the company's background check process if extended an offer.
Responsibilities
  • Provide direct client care in one-to-one and group settings using intensive teaching and natural environment training.
  • Follow behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols in each client's individualized treatment plan under BCBA/BC supervision.
  • Collect, record, and summarize data on observable client behavior.
  • Assist with parent and caregiver training in accordance with individualized treatment and behavior reduction protocols.
  • Complete documentation on time and according to established procedures.
  • Communicate with parents and caregivers about client progress as instructed by the BCBA/BC.
  • Use safe and appropriate procedures when working with clients and report critical incidents and safety concerns appropriately.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work and therapy environment.
  • Assist the BCBA/BC with preparing client materials, behavior reduction assessments, and skill acquisition activities.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience working as a behavioral technician.
  • Experience working with children with autism or other learning disabilities.
  • Experience as a teacher's aide, tutor, certified nursing assistant, caregiver, or home health aide.
