Requirements
  • A Bachelor degree from an accredited college or university in business administration or construction engineering.
  • A valid California General Contractors license must be possessed and maintained and the candidate must be identified as the Responsible Managing Employee for LACC; to be the RME they cannot hold licenses for multiple unrelated entities at any given time.
  • Minimum of four to six years of progressively responsible professional experience in managing the design and construction of capital improvement projects.
  • Must be able to read, write, and understand English in a working environment.
  • Understanding of construction industry processes and procedures with hands-on experience in procurement, logistics, or project management.
  • Excellent time management skills and outstanding communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers; strong teamwork and analytical skills; ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks under pressure to deliver high-quality results.
  • Good computer skills with strong proficiency in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Projects, Visio) and ability to learn required business systems.
  • Must be able to process information in the form of computing financial data, compiling information for financial reports, and verifying data from invoices.
  • Must be able to use good judgment and common sense to make logical, cost-effective, and sometimes critical decisions while working under high pressure and strict deadlines related to procurement and inventory functions.
  • Must maintain integrity and confidentiality when working with purchasing information and sensitive information; ensure compliance with local municipality codes, ordinances, ASM Global policies, procedures, risk management, safety precautions, state regulations, and emergency procedures.
  • Must be able to draft, manage, distribute, respond to, or analyze RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, or supplier terms and conditions as needed.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Required variable work schedule including late hours, early mornings, extended hours, holidays, and weekends.
Responsibilities
  • Procurement Analytics: Develop, implement, organize, and analyze data from internal and external sources to identify major expenditures, savings and optimization opportunities, and contract price variances; budget CIP projects to maintain LACC fiscal responsibilities in the bidding process and throughout projects outlined.
  • Project Management: Serve as the primary day-to-day contact, coordinating capital and asset improvement related activities such as repairs, supplies, assets, renovations, inspections, contractors, contractor meetings, permitting activities, projects close-out, calendars, and mandated reports, to ensure all project phases are completed within specifications with minimal interruption to in-house events.
  • Reporting and Compliance: Upkeep a variety of asset and equipment manuals and electronic files and/or records such as as-built drawings, sketches, material samples, and job-related communications, through computerized maintenance management system with administrative rights, to provide up-to-date reference and comply with regulatory requirements and ASM Global policies.
  • Management Performance: Act as primary point of contact to evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production, distribution capabilities, transportation cost, supplier reputation and performance history.
  • Takes ownership of assigned project tasks and deliverables related to LACC’s sourcing and procurement, including CIP projects, key sourcing events, supplier relationships, bidder outreach and inclusion, and department-wide projects and programs.
  • Other duties assigned as business needs.
