Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in optical engineering, electrical engineering, optics, physics, engineering physics, or an equivalent engineering or science degree with relevant experience.
  • 2-4 years of experience in a related field or Masters degree and less than 2 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Highly organized, demonstrating the ability to lead small optical projects because this position does expect some level of leadership.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
  • Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville – North Alabama, AL, area.
Responsibilities
  • Work closely with a team of engineers and scientists.
  • Apply standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques to solve problems in optical engineering related to EO/IR sensor systems.
  • Develop technical solutions that require collaboration with internal experts and deep analyses.
  • Explain technical solutions, practices, and procedures to others.
  • Support multiple tasks in parallel and contribute productively in a team environment.
Desired Qualifications
  • Interest in working multiple projects with some programming ability is a plus.
  • Aptitude and ability to create design documentation, requirements specifications, and other technical documentation.
  • Preference may be given to candidates with a SECRET clearance or above; a TS/SCI clearance (with CI Polygraph); familiarity with EO/IR phenomenology; experience with image processing.
  • Preference may be shown to candidates with more than the minimum amount of experience (5+ years of experience in a related field or Masters degree with 3+ years of prior relevant experience).
