Juicy Marbles launches Butcher-Minced Bangers exclusively with UK online retailer Ocado on 31 July. The plant-based sausages are priced at £4.09 for a pack of six. The company says its new product differs from standard plant-based sausages by using a "butcher-minced" technique. Instead of emulsifying proteins and fats, Juicy Marbles minces its own plant-based whole cuts and includes visible fat cubes that melt during cooking. Co-founder Luka Sinček explains the company wanted to give plant-based sausages an "experiential overhaul" by employing traditional butcher techniques. The bangers feature a coarse-ground structure designed to replicate the texture of butcher-made sausages. The product contains 12.4g of protein per 100g, zero preservatives, and is a source of iron, B12, and fibre. Cooking time is six to eight minutes.
Online grocery firm Ocado is creating hundreds of jobs at a new 55,000 sq ft facility in Stoke-on-Trent. The company has secured a 15-year lease for the unit at Indurent Park Stoke Central, near the A500, taking the final available space at the site. The facility, equipped with solar panels and electric vehicle charging capabilities, is expected to become operational later this year. Danny Kennedy from Ocado said the site will enable the company to deliver to more customers whilst creating hundreds of new positions. The announcement comes months after Ocado Group revealed plans in February to cut 1,000 jobs globally, representing approximately 5% of its 20,000-strong workforce, as part of a restructuring programme.
Ocado Group reported 27% year-on-year international volume growth in its H1 2026 results, driven by new partnerships. Group revenue increased 5% excluding closed customer fulfilment centres (CFCs). Ocado Retail delivered 15% revenue growth, the fastest amongst UK retailers. The division's EBITDA rose 119% to £73 million. Adjusted group EBITDA reached £81 million, down £11 million year-on-year. The company expects to achieve cash flow positivity in H2 FY26 and maintain it throughout FY27. Ocado holds over £1 billion in liquidity, comprising £700 million cash and a £300 million undrawn credit facility. The group aims to deliver £150 million in annualised cost savings and plans to reduce gross debt from £1.438 billion to £700-800 million within 12-18 months. However, Ocado faces delays opening new CFCs in Korea and Japan, whilst store-based automation deals have been postponed.
Ocado Group reported strong revenue growth of 12% and improved adjusted EBITDA by £66 million to £178 million for full year 2025. The company ended the year with £700 million in liquidity and expects to turn cash flow positive later this year, with full-year cash generation anticipated in FY27. Tech Solutions revenue grew 7% to £444 million with contribution margin improving to 72%. Ocado Retail revenue increased 15%, whilst orders per week grew 10%. The company achieved operational improvements, including a 34% increase in drops per shift at certain warehouses. However, challenges remain. Underlying cash flow showed a £230 million outflow, sites in North America closed due to underperformance, and interest costs rose by £48 million. Rollouts in Korea and Japan face delays.
