Requirements
  • A Master's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field, or a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field plus five years of directly related work experience as a substitute.
  • Five years of experience in a large, multi-billion-dollar, high-volume accounts payable department.
  • Five years of experience managing employees.
  • Computer experience with an emphasis on accounts payable systems.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate complex transactions to a wide variety of audiences through verbal and written presentations.
  • Ability to manage large projects and oversee the leadership of cross-functional teams.
  • Regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies and applicable federal, state, and local standards.
  • Compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
  • Responsibility for professional development and continuing education.
  • Completion of all mandatory education.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee accounts payable improvement initiatives and related projects, including enterprise resource planning, acquisition and new-location integration, and system upgrades.
  • Collaborate with the Information Technology department to maximize the use of technology and implement efficient business processes.
  • Serve as the accounts payable business partner to executive leadership.
  • Provide financial oversight of complex accounts payable functions and processes supporting multiple business units.
  • Ensure the team supports accounts payable and related business processes.
  • Ensure the team provides internal and external customers with accurate and timely data for strategic decision-making and compliance.
  • Oversee accounts payable staff, managers, and third-party vendors, including assignments and performance metrics, and act as the subject matter expert for resolving high-priority invoice-processing issues.
  • Oversee daily department payments, including check-run review, electronic payables, electronic funds transfer transactions, Viewpost, and check payments.
  • Manage month-end and year-end processes, including payment verification, accrual processing, invoice-backlog clearance, and resolution of outstanding payment and invoicing issues with vendors and departments.
  • Ensure timely and accurate filing of Forms 1099 and 1098 with the Internal Revenue Service.
  • Develop and oversee accounts payable dashboards and performance metrics to streamline daily and monthly tasks and improve department efficiency.
  • Confer with supply chain management and other departments on vendor billing issues and obtain input for accounts payable vendor campaigns and feedback surveys.
  • Conduct an annual vendor survey on customer service and develop and implement action plans in response to the findings.
  • Collaborate with other departments to identify alignment opportunities and pursue joint projects or initiatives related to accounts payable.
  • Collaborate with business partners to design supplemental training, customer support, and accounts payable campaigns that reinforce Orlando Health policies and improve processes.
  • Achieve team critical success factors, including anticipating and meeting customer requirements, producing accurate and high-quality work, and achieving cost-effective results.
  • Continuously improve internal processes by implementing innovative technology-based improvements to accounts payable systems.
  • Develop team members into an effective and flexible team able to meet customer needs with accurate, high-quality work.
  • Establish policies, procedures, internal controls, standards, and objectives in coordination with Orlando Health's vision and goals.
  • Manage human resource functions including hiring, work assignments, coaching plans, and performance counseling.
  • Optimize the organization's capture of negotiated discounts and rebates and work with supply chain to identify additional payment-discount opportunities.

Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute has opened a new 31,000-square-foot facility at Orlando Health Institute Square in St. Petersburg, expanding cancer care access in Pinellas County. The location at 725 6th Ave South features 18 private exam rooms, 47 infusion chairs and on-site PET/CT imaging.
