Requirements
- 8+ years of relevant Human Resources/People experience
- Proven experience in a leadership role in People Operations, preferably in a startup environment
- Excellent stakeholder management skills as well as proven experience in leading and development of a HR team
- Strong understanding of People strategy and ability to come up with a plan that fits within the business constraints
- Strong understanding of concepts around legal and HR risk and compliance, specifically when and how to take HR risks (with the understanding that everything is a tradeoff)
- Reasonable understanding of insurance and related concepts
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders across all levels and cross-functional teams
- Experience working with an employee base that is largely non-exempt
- Ability to manage a geographically dispersed team
Responsibilities
- Lead the People & Talent function as a strategic and executive partner, aligning people strategies with business objectives
- Translate ambiguous or difficult-to-quantify people and recruiting goals into clear business value propositions, aligning initiatives with company level goals
- Develop long and short term people strategies and design approaches for enhancing organizational effectiveness and employee engagement
- Be the trusted strategic partner, advisor and coach to the leaders in the organization regarding their own development and the development of their teams
- Build and maintain strong relationships, with the ability to deescalate stressful situations and navigate sensitive issues
- Uphold a high standard of integrity and credibility in all interactions and decisions
- Drive talent acquisition goals forward, owning the recruitment process and demonstrating a proven track record of successfully filling critical positions in a timely manner
- Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects - define necessary tasks, milestones and dependencies and track from start to finish
- Culture Development: Be a culture champion to support SimplyInsured's existing culture and evolve it to support growth, geographic dispersion, and a culturally diverse workforce
