About the Role

The mandate of the research team is to use advanced machine learning techniques to accelerate software progress. In this role, you will work closely with the software vertical teams to understand their pain points, and explore novel and advanced machine learning methods to solve practical real world challenging problems. To name a few, using self supervised learning to learn robust representations, exploring techniques for out of distribution detection to solve long tail problems, applying reinforcement learning for decision making in planning, or trying to build an end-to-end driving system. About the Work

• Collaborate with autonomy teams to understand their pain points and priorities.
• Research new machine learning problems and models.
• Derive practical solutions and deploy them on the NuroBot.
• Have the potential to lead a team on increasingly ambitious new projects.

About You

You have deep expertise and prior experience in some or many of the following areas:

• Ph.D. in Computer Science or related fields, or B.S./M.S. in computer science or related fields with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Deep understanding of many advanced machine learning techniques and hands-on experience of training deep models.
• Passionate for researching and solving near-impossible research problems.
• Strong desire to deploy the solutions into the product.
• Outstanding communication skills to lead projects with multi-team collaboration.
• Strong programming skills in C++ or Python.
• Enthusiastic about self-driving technology and its potential impact on society.

Bonus Points

• Highly cited publications in top conferences in machine learning or related fields.
• Experience of using large scale machine learning systems in production.
• Experience of leading a project from conception and experimentation to product-ionization.
