Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required, master’s preferred in Higher Education, Counseling, College Student Personnel, or a related field strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering a welcoming and supportive campus environment for all students
  • Experience working with students on a college campus and strong desire to work with students from all backgrounds and life experiences
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge regarding the various challenges and opportunities students encounter in a college setting
  • Must have experience in creating and implementing programs
  • Supervisory experience
  • Excellent leadership, organization, management, and administrative skills
  • Must have a caring and compassionate student-centered philosophy
  • Must have an enthusiastic and innovative approach to student development and programming
  • Ability to think critically, problem-solve, and make sound decisions
Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a wide range of social and educational programs
  • Co-manage a professional mentorship program
  • Provide direct support and advocacy for all students
  • Direct supervision of student staff
  • Managing early alerts through Navigate
  • Overseeing the daily operations of the center
  • Collaborate with the Director and other university departments
  • Create opportunities for student engagement and foster an environment of belonging for all students
Desired Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience in developing programs that promote student engagement and build community
  • Demonstrated experience in student advocacy and promoting access to university resources
  • Demonstrated experience in student group advising
  • Demonstrated success in program development and planning large-scale events
  • Ability to develop and maintain professional and collaborative relationships with faculty/staff, students, parents, and community members
