Requirements
  • Board certification or board eligibility in Primary Care Sports Medicine.
  • Provide comprehensive, non-operative sports medicine care to active patients and athletes across the lifespan.
  • Participate in teaching and mentorship of Primary Care Sports Medicine fellows, residents, and medical students.
  • Engage in clinical research related to women’s sports medicine and performance.
  • Coordinate care within a multidisciplinary sports medicine team and across the full continuum of services.
Responsibilities
  • Provide musculoskeletal evaluation and management, injury prevention, diagnosis and rehabilitation, ultrasound-guided procedures, concussion management, and return-to-play protocols.
  • Deliver longitudinal care to active patients and athletes of all ages.
  • Lead and expand a comprehensive Women’s Sports Medicine Program focused on female athlete health, performance optimization, bone health, stress injury prevention, women’s health, and pregnancy and postpartum return-to-exercise guidance.
  • Collaborate with orthopedics, obstetrics and gynecology, endocrinology, nutrition, and mental health specialists to deliver integrated care.
  • Develop clinical pathways and best practices tailored to female athletes.
  • Partner with regional leadership to grow a multidisciplinary sports medicine program across the Southeast region.
  • Build referral networks and expand access to sports medicine services, particularly for female athletes and underserved populations.
  • Participate in teaching, mentorship, academic collaboration, and clinical research.
  • Coordinate care with orthopedic surgeons, physical therapists, athletic trainers, strength and conditioning specialists, sports dietitians, and mental health providers.
  • Develop partnerships with youth and school-based athletics, collegiate programs, and community fitness and wellness organizations.
  • Provide educational outreach to athletes, coaches, and parents.
  • Serve as a medical liaison for school and team partnerships, including pre-participation physicals, screenings, sideline or event coverage as applicable, and injury prevention education and training.
  • Create individualized treatment plans integrating medical care, rehabilitation, and performance optimization.
  • Support return-to-play and long-term health outcomes for a diverse athlete population.

Cognito Therapeutics and Ochsner Health launch Gulf South brain health collaboratory for Alzheimer's care

Cognito Therapeutics has partnered with Ochsner Health to launch a Brain Health Collaboratory in the Gulf South, advancing new care models for Alzheimer's disease. The collaboration will combine Cognito's investigational Spectris technology with Ochsner's clinical network across Louisiana, Mississippi and surrounding areas. The partnership will develop a Brain Health Index to track cognitive health and disease progression whilst exploring integration of Spectris therapy into clinical care. The collaboratory will also examine coverage pathways for dual-eligible Medicare and Medicaid populations. Spectris, which received FDA Breakthrough Device Designation in 2021, delivers synchronised light and sound stimulation for at-home use. It is currently being evaluated in the HOPE Trial. This marks Cognito's second Brain Health Collaboratory, following a November 2025 launch with West Virginia University's Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute.

This is part of a $300 million joint venture development pipeline for healthcare properties, involving Catalyst Healthcare Real Estate and Heitman.
