Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field is required.
  • Coursework must include 16 semester hours of chemistry, including analytical and biological chemistry.
  • Coursework must include 16 semester hours of biological sciences, including microbiology, hematology, and immunology.
  • Coursework must include 3 semester hours of physics, math, or statistics.
  • Experience working in a sterile or clean room laboratory or environment.
  • A Clinical Laboratory Scientist license or applicable laboratory certification is required based on state regulations.
  • Knowledge of analytical chemistry equipment and processes, including high-performance liquid chromatography, gas chromatography, and thin-layer chromatography.
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedure-driven processes and demonstrate critical thinking.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Basic computer skills, including spreadsheets, word processing, and email.
  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds.
  • Willingness to work night shifts and alternating shifts as needed.
Responsibilities
  • Perform allergy testing, clinical chemistry testing such as metabolic panels and enzyme assays, and hematology testing including complete blood counts with no manual differentials.
  • Perform complex compounding and manufacturing activities, including cyclotron operation and chemistry module operation, under supervision as required by state and federal law.
  • Execute quality control testing using analytical equipment such as thin-layer chromatography, high-performance liquid chromatography, and gas chromatography.
  • Participate in inspections, maintenance, and troubleshooting for manufacturing and testing equipment.
  • Implement approved standard operating procedure updates related to production and quality control processes.
  • Conduct daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly preventive maintenance checks on cyclotrons, chemistry modules, and quality control equipment in accordance with established standard operating procedures.
  • Prepare products for shipment, coordinate courier schedules, and complete required logistics documentation and records.
  • Conduct laboratory tests on blood, tissue, and other specimens.
  • Operate and maintain clinical laboratory equipment.
  • Report and validate test results used by physicians for diagnosis and treatment.
  • Adhere to current good manufacturing practice, current good laboratory practice, Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments, College of American Pathologists, state, federal, and accrediting-body requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and complete batch records, quality control documentation, and logs.
  • Build and maintain the laboratory information system.
  • Support internal audits, inspections, and corrective actions as needed.
