  • A bachelor's degree in business, management, finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is required.
  • Two years of relevant experience are required.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement research administration processes and metrics for the Office of Research.
  • Oversee pre-award and post-award activities and support research programs and centers.
  • Manage and review budgets across multiple funding sources for research and sponsored projects.
  • Monitor monthly expenditures, analyze annual budget performance, reconcile actual expenses against budget projections, and recommend adjustments.
  • Track salaries, effort distribution, positions, and financial commitments.
  • Initiate and process journal entries, fund transfers, full-time-equivalent changes, and one-time payments accurately and promptly.
  • Manage cost sharing, reconciliation, and earnings operations.
  • Prepare and review research-related purchase orders and support capital budget requests.
  • Partner with the Office of Sponsored Programs, College of Medicine Grants Management Office, and College of Medicine Office of Research to support faculty in pre-award and post-award activities.
  • Assist with budget development, monitor post-award financials, manage full-time-equivalent allocations and payroll adjustments, and process tuition-related journal entries.
  • Serve as a liaison among faculty, research groups, and administrative units.
  • Oversee grant expenditures, reconcile discrepancies, handle cost transfers and general ledger transactions, and address contractual issues with Principal Investigators and the Office of Sponsored Programs.
  • Audit research spending for compliance and ensure that policies and documentation standards are met.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain procedures for research infrastructure that supports growth of the research enterprise.
  • Assist in strategic planning and operations for research and sponsored projects.
  • Support financial accounting structures, monthly period-close processes, payroll accounting strategy, internal controls, and risk-appraisal documentation.
  • Conduct financial and compliance reviews and audits.
  • Provide financial and research staffing projections for strategic planning.
  • Manage research and sponsored-project business processes, including processes in research centers, for efficient operations.
  • Coordinate with sponsored-programs, grants-management, research, and center leadership offices to resolve operational issues.
  • Process Workday transactions in accordance with university guidelines.
  • Advise faculty and staff on research-related procurement and financial policies.
  • Oversee research and sponsored-projects administration and operations.
  • Serve as a member of the School's Administrative Team.
  • Perform other assigned duties and special projects.
  • Provide strategic support for general school activities to ensure continuity of operations.
Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge of sponsored projects and grants management is preferred.
