Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience is required.
  • 8 to 10 years of experience is required.
  • Knowledge of network security, network hardware configuration, network protocols, networking standards, supervision, conceptual skills, decision making, informing others, functional and technical skills, dependability, and information security policies is required.
  • The candidate must be local to the position; relocation is not provided.
  • The role requires travel of up to 25%.
Responsibilities
  • Enhance security team accomplishments and competence by planning delivery of solutions, answering technical and procedural questions for less experienced team members, teaching improved processes, and mentoring team members.
  • Determine security requirements by evaluating business strategies and requirements, researching information security standards, conducting system security and vulnerability analyses and risk assessments, studying architecture and platforms, identifying integration issues, and preparing cost estimates.
  • Plan security systems by evaluating network and security technologies; developing requirements for local area networks, wide area networks, virtual private networks, routers, firewalls, and related security and network devices; designing public key infrastructures including certification authorities and digital signatures; and adhering to industry standards.
  • Implement security systems by specifying intrusion detection methodologies and equipment, directing equipment and software installation and calibration, preparing preventive and reactive measures, creating, transmitting, and maintaining keys, providing technical support, and completing documentation.
  • Verify security systems by developing and implementing test scripts.
  • Maintain security by monitoring and ensuring compliance with standards, policies, and procedures; conducting incident response analyses; and developing and conducting training programs.
  • Upgrade security systems by monitoring the security environment, identifying security gaps, and evaluating and implementing enhancements.
  • Prepare system security reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
  • Update job knowledge by tracking emerging security practices and standards, participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining professional networks, and participating in professional organizations.
  • Enhance department and organization reputation by taking ownership of new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
