Requirements
  • Must be accepted into or currently enrolled in a master’s or doctorate program by the start date.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to understand, speak, and write English.
  • Ability to attain an understanding of the technical systems supporting the Administrative Graduate Assistant role.
  • Must live in the local area to report to work on campus.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in verbal and written form.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Computer and scheduling skills.
  • Ability to reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment to solve routine and complex problems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to travel to local and campus locations.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
Responsibilities
  • Work under the direction and supervision of the assigned Director.
  • Attend necessary events organized by the department and The Graduate School.
  • Attend orientations and training sessions as directed by the department and The Graduate School.
  • Follow The Graduate School Honor Code and Graduate Assistantship Handbook.
  • Assist the department with administrative tasks, projects, and other assigned responsibilities.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze data related to academic programs, institutional reports, and other relevant metrics using spreadsheet software or databases.
  • Assist The Graduate School with research on best practices in higher education, program assessment, accreditation, and related topics.
  • Review and update policies and procedures related to academic programs in accordance with institutional guidelines and regulations.
  • Assist with data collection and prepare materials for institutional reporting, accreditation processes, and program reviews.
  • Support The Graduate School in managing faculty-related matters, including compiling materials for reports, meetings, committees, and program reviews.
  • Collaborate with graduate assistants, staff, faculty, departments, and colleges or schools across the university on tasks and initiatives originating from The Graduate School.
  • Represent the University in accordance with its policies and standards.
Desired Qualifications
  • A bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university.
  • A bachelor’s degree with a relevant combination of writing, communication, event planning and coordination, and reporting experience.
  • Previous teaching experience.
