The 4 Main Neuroscience Unit has 20 beds and specializes in medical, neurological and telemetry services for neurological diseases, such as Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, strokes, seizures, migraines and other conditions. As an RN on this team, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care by interacting directly with patients, families, and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply healthcare information as needed. This position requires a caregiver who is empathetic, understanding and nurturing to ensure quality patient care and effective life-saving treatment.

A caregiver in this position works nights from 7:00PM – 7:30AM, with every other weekend and holiday requirements.  

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Participate in a residency core curriculum based on individual learning needs. 

• Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach. 

• Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care (acuity of need, patient preference and resource availability). 

• Respond to data indicating risk to patients’ health and initiate action to correct, reduce or prevent risk. 

• Seek supervision, consultation and assistance when unable to perform safely and independently. 

• Document in patients’ medical records.  

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

• Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing  

• Current state licensure or pending licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) Or American Red Cross

• New grad or less than one year RN work experience or if experience RN moving from non-inpatient to acute direct care clinical inpatient setting with less than one year current acute direct patient care RN experience. 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal candidate include:

• Bachelors of science in nursing

Physical Requirements:

• Full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination

• Standing and walking for extended periods of time

• Corrected vision and hearing to normal range

• Working under stressful conditions and irregular hours

• Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids

• Medium Work, exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects

• Physical Demand requirements in excess of those for Light Work
