Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent education is required.
  • Basic knowledge of general business practices, retail sales practices, and procedures acquired through at least 6 months of similar experience is required.
  • Previous customer experience is required.
  • The employee must be able to stand, walk, sit, kneel, use their hands to handle or feel, and talk or hear regularly.
  • The employee must be able to lift or move up to 25 pounds regularly.
  • The employee must have close vision, depth perception, color vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • The employee must comply with all applicable federal, state, and local safety and health regulations.
Responsibilities
  • Greet and welcome members and guests in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with members, guests, and fellow staff members, and answer questions while providing assistance and information to customers.
  • Answer telephones to schedule future court times and communicate information in a pleasant and professional manner.
  • Assist with lesson and program scheduling as needed.
  • Accurately open, operate, and close the point-of-sale system according to the Club Operations Manual.
  • Handle and count cash, make accurate change, record credit cards and member charges according to standard operating procedures, and collect fees and other income.
  • Maintain the purchase order system and ordering and receiving program to ensure proper quantity and price on all purchases.
  • Assist with physical inventories as required.
  • Assist with routine cleaning of the tennis shop, storage areas, and merchandise displays.
  • Communicate information, sell merchandise, and become fully knowledgeable about products and sales techniques.
  • Anticipate the needs of members and guests and offer appropriate merchandise alternatives.
  • Ensure displays are maintained at par-stock inventory levels and meet or exceed applicable property standards.
  • Perform light maintenance duties on the courts and grounds as directed to maintain the appearance of the facility and the member experience.
  • Perform special projects or other assigned duties.
