Responsibilities
  • Apply technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies to moderate-scope projects focused on enterprise network-attached storage architecture, engineering standards, and strategic platform direction.
  • Drive workstreams or projects involving infrastructure engineering technologies such as network-attached storage reference architectures, resiliency patterns, performance engineering standards, and automation or guardrails.
  • Define, document, and govern design and configuration standards, and establish adoption of standardized network-attached storage configuration and design patterns across the platform.
  • Lead vendor and product evaluations, including requirements definition, request-for-information and request-for-proposal support, technical deep dives, interoperability assessments, proofs of concept, sizing, and lifecycle planning.
  • Deliver clear, evidence-based recommendations to inform roadmap decisions.
  • Partner with compute, network, cloud, application, and cybersecurity teams to architect and implement changes that resolve systemic issues and modernize technology processes.
  • Improve platform performance and stability by enhancing observability, performance engineering practices, and preventative controls, with a focus on reducing performance incidents through root-cause remediation and durable standards.
  • Assess upstream and downstream data and system implications, including user authentication mechanisms such as Active Directory and Lightweight Directory Access Protocol, encryption and key-management dependencies, backup and restore, disaster recovery, network paths, and application input/output profiles, and advise on mitigation actions.
  • Support Site Reliability Engineering teams through technical consultation and escalation support for complex incidents and problem management, driving long-term fixes instead of one-off remediation.
  • Use approved artificial-intelligence-enabled engineering workflows, including large language models, Model Context Protocol, and skills or agents, to optimize analysis, documentation, automation, and knowledge capture.
