You will be a vital part of the single largest account within the Momentum UK business. Not only that but, within the American Express Team, you will be managing and supporting high profile activations, events, and partnerships, with the chance to significantly impact on the agency’s revenue streams. You will work with a highly-motivated team and have access to all departments within the business – here in London, and in New York City.
The role may technically be ‘Client Services’ but it is so much more than that. No day (or hour) is the same and you’ll be across every element of your projects meaning the work will be varied, challenging, and fulfilling.

/ THE ROLE
Momentum has worked with American Express for over 20 years across all facets of its business. Our New York and London offices provide a truly collaborative approach, allowing us to deliver global work with local flavours and nuances.
Momentum work with American Express across a wide plethora of events, from managing their activations as the official credit card partner of The Championships, Wimbledon to other cultural events such as Somerset House Summer Series, British Summer Time, international music presales and the London Film Festival, to an array of corporate engagement events and B2B Conference and Tradeshows for their business divisions. These properties allow American Express to help Card Members, Business Partners and fans redefine the way they experience events – whether facilitating presale hospitality access, elevating onsite experiences in meaningful ways, deepen relations with their American Express contacts, innovating Card Member payment experiences, or delivering value for purchases at events.
Momentum is responsible for the Strategic Direction, Creative Development, Design, Production, Execution and Delivery across all physical and virtual events and the Account Executive, based in London, will provide vital team support with the day-to-day running across B2B projects and Wimbledon to name a few.
As Account Executive, you are tasked with supporting the team across multiple aspects of these events, you will work closely with Account Directors, Senior Account Managers and Account Managers to ensure the team are set up for success to deliver activations in line with Amex’s objectives. You will also work closely with the American Express client contacts and partners.
This role requires someone who is enthusiastic and has a can-do attitude along with a willingness to jump in and support across the team. / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Your core role will be the delivery of the American Express Wimbledon Activation. This will include owning and supporting on the delivery of multiple onsite and offsite activation workstreams.
- Both on the Wimbledon activation and on broader American Express experiences delivered across the year, you will create and manage overall timelines for each project (alongside the Project Manager), own approvals on creative work with internal and external stakeholders, manage partner relationships and holistically oversee and be responsible for your areas.
- Beyond the world of Wimbledon, client projects are varied across cultural partnerships, festivals, and premium activations subject to client priorities. Flexibility and wanting to get stuck in is key on this team!
- Assisting with Strategy, Creative, Design phases of the projects.
- Managing internal and client weekly status documents
- Managing meeting Agendas & Minutes
- Creating presentation decks for Clients, partners and for internal usage
- Team administration
- Supporting across all phases of the delivery of all Amex event activations
- Supporting with time reconciliations and finance administration which includes pulling relevant reports to manage agency time and budgets
- Building and maintaining relationships with key clients in the UK
- It’s important to never settle for ok and be willing to push back in order to create a flawless (and premium) experience for our clients
- Reporting directly into the Senior Account Manager/Account Manager, American Express, but with a dotted line into the Account Director, American Express
/ WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Agency experience preferred, although not a requirement. We’re open to speaking to talent from all backgrounds in order to diversify the skill-set within the team
- Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships within the team but also with clients, partners and agency colleagues
- Good time management and prioritisation skills
- A trustworthy and hardworking team member
- A can-do attitude and a willingness to take on any task
- Capable of learning quickly and applying learnings/best practices to future tasks
- Ability to juggle a number of tasks simultaneously and consistently to deliver high quality work to tight deadlines and when under pressure
- Strong organisation skills, with excellent attention to detail
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
- Strong IT skills including Excel & PowerPoint
- Polished, professional demeanour, projects confidence and enthusiasm for the business
- Flexibility to work outside of your core hours when delivering/supporting on an event
- Willingness to travel, as the role may require some local and international travel to events
Please note, this is a job description to span across the Wimbledon American Express Team, with flex across other verticals within the Amex Business in the second half of the year.
