Requirements
  • 8+ years of Product Management experience, with proven experience in launching and scaling commercially successful software products in a B2B SaaS environment
  • Hands-on product management experience in a complex technical environment involving Internet of Things, artificial intelligence/machine learning, and an integrated hardware and software stack
  • Proven track record in developing and scaling products that specifically utilize computer vision and machine learning
  • High customer empathy, with a desire to get in the shoes of our customers
  • Be data-driven; you regularly seek out and use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and opinions
  • You are comfortable and confident sharing your thoughts in verbal or written form. You can engage constructively in debate and discussion with different personality types and seniority levels
  • You are a trailblazer who is humble, kind, and open to learning new stuff. You can take a stand yet commit even when you disagree. You have a strong bias to action (aka hustle) and are not afraid to get your hands dirty

Responsibilities
  • As a Director of Product, you will play a leadership role in developing and implementing a strategic vision for Motive’s AI-powered safety products
  • Conduct market research, analyze competitor landscapes, and stay ahead of industry trends to maintain Motive's competitive edge in AI-driven safety solutions
  • Spearhead the development and launch of cutting-edge AI features, ensuring the highest standards of quality and performance
  • Partner closely with engineering, data science, and computer vision teams to navigate technical complexities and deliver exceptional product outcomes
  • Deeply understand customer needs and pain points, translating them into innovative solutions that maximize the impact of Motive's safety products
  • Be bold and strategic in identifying product improvements and new growth opportunities
  • Partner closely with our Sales team to engage on critical strategic accounts and trials
  • Strive in a player/coach role and mentor a high-performing team to deliver exceptional product outcomes while rolling up your sleeves and maintaining a hands-on approach to project execution
  • Demonstrate proficiency in navigating the technical complexities of the product, spanning software, hardware, AI, and data domains
  • Work closely with other product managers, within and outside of Safety, to develop and implement the product strategy
  • Collaborate with GTM teams to develop sales strategies and marketing campaigns
  • Analyze performance metrics to measure the success of product launches
  • Actively contribute to an amazing work culture

Samsara wins $30M over Motive's marketing claims; Motive beats patent case

Samsara has been awarded $30.3 million in damages from a favourable arbitration ruling against rival Motive over false advertising claims. The dispute centred on Motive's marketing of a 2023 Virginia Tech Transportation Institute study comparing AI dashcam performance, which Motive referenced in promotional materials and its December 2025 S-1 filing. The arbitrator issued a permanent injunction and damages related to the benchmarking studies. Motive, which has discontinued using the studies, told employees no admission of liability occurred. Separately, Motive won an International Trade Commission patent case where Samsara had sought exclusion orders on AI dashcams and gateways. An administrative law judge found no violation after a March 2025 hearing. The legal battles highlight intense competition in the fleet telematics market, valued at $10.42 billion in 2025 and projected to reach $21.95 billion by 2032.
