Japanese AI stocks Trend Micro and WingArc1st show revenue growth amid elevated rates

Japanese cybersecurity firm Trend Micro is deploying AI-powered security software across its Vision One platform and Deepfake Inspector, targeting risks from large language models. The company reported ¥296bn in diversified revenue across Japan, Asia Pacific, Europe and the Americas. Vision One's annual recurring revenue is growing, with new AI features planned for 2026. However, management warned of lower operating income this year as cloud and AI spending increases. The company faces near-term margin pressure alongside challenges in consumer and perpetual licence segments. Meanwhile, WingArc1st operates a data and document platform business in Japan, generating ¥31.4bn in revenue. Its invoiceAgent tool uses AI-powered optical character recognition to digitise and extract data from invoices and forms for automation workflows.

TrendAI adopts Claude Opus 5 to speed vulnerability prioritization and virtual patching

TrendAI, the enterprise AI security division of Trend Micro, has adopted Claude Opus 5 to enhance vulnerability prioritisation and virtual patching capabilities. As a participant in Anthropic's Cyber Verification Program, TrendAI will use the advanced reasoning model to help security teams convert vulnerability intelligence into immediate protection across hybrid environments. The model will support TrendAI's work in threat research, combining frontier AI with proprietary intelligence and human expertise to generate pre-disclosure intelligence. These insights power TrendAI Vision One, delivering detection, forensic insights, and proactive protection through virtual patching. TrendAI chief platform and business officer Rachel Jin said the technology enables protection of organisations faster than software can be permanently patched, addressing the challenge of responding to vulnerabilities as AI makes finding them increasingly easy.

Trend Micro integrates Claude Compliance API into Vision One platform

Trend Micro has integrated Anthropic's Claude Compliance API into its Vision One platform. The API, available to Claude Enterprise and Claude Platform customers, exposes conversation content including chats, uploaded files and projects, whilst surfacing activity events such as logins, administrative actions and configuration changes. Trend Micro said customers can deploy a self-hosted collector that runs locally, ensuring the compliance access key and Claude conversation content remain within their own environment to meet data residency requirements. The integration also offers a security information and event management option that correlates Claude telemetry with signals from endpoints, identities, networks, cloud services and email systems.
