Requirements
  • Current California Registered Nurse license.
  • Nursing Advanced Life Support certification within six months of hire.
  • Progressive professional nursing experience with demonstrated clinical and leadership competency.
  • Knowledge of emergency nursing practice, patient safety, quality improvement, staffing, performance management, and healthcare regulatory requirements.
  • Working knowledge of The Joint Commission standards and California Title 22 requirements applicable to Emergency Department operations.
  • Registered Nurse license or credential.
  • Basic Life Support certification.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.
  • Must be able to provide proof of work authorization in the United States.
Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical, operational, and administrative leadership for the Emergency Department.
  • Ensure delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered care through effective leadership, staffing, regulatory compliance, performance management, staff development, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Provide visible and accessible leadership and maintain accountability for department operations, nursing practice, workforce performance, and a culture of safety, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
  • Exercise discretion when managing sensitive employee, student, health, patient, financial, strategic, proprietary, and other non-public information.
  • Safeguard sensitive information, follow organizational policies and data-protection laws, securely handle physical and digital records, and use information-technology systems to prevent data leaks.
Desired Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Five or more years of progressive emergency nursing experience.
  • Two or more years of formal nursing leadership experience.
  • National certification in emergency nursing or nursing leadership, such as Certified Emergency Nurse or Nurse Executive-Advanced Board Certified, or equivalent.
  • Experience with Magnet, Lantern Award, professional governance, nursing research, or evidence-based practice.
  • Experience leading interdisciplinary quality and operational improvement initiatives.
