Requirements
  • At least 8 years of experience in sales, business development, account management, consulting, or a related commercial area.
  • At least 5 years of leadership experience, including at least 2 years directly leading people.
  • A bachelor's degree, or an additional two years of relevant training or experience in lieu of the degree.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proven success driving measurable results that enhance customer and employee satisfaction.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to drive outcomes in the company's best interest, particularly with direct reports and executive sponsors or other stakeholders.
  • Ability to interact with business leaders, provide insights and recommendations, and collaborate to solve complex challenges.
  • Ability to manage through ambiguity, analyze and summarize complex data concisely, and make meaningful business recommendations.
  • Ability and willingness to travel at least 25% of the time to meet with customers and direct reports.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities
  • Establish strategic goals and direction for the global and strategic account managers across sales activities at Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines.
  • Set the long-term strategy for the team's vision, structure, processes, and reporting to meet objectives, including revenue and market-share targets.
  • Establish team goals, metrics, and market-share priorities for global and strategic accounts, ensuring portfolios meet fair market-share targets on Seattle long-haul and other key markets.
  • Support Alaska's international expansion by leading strategy to grow corporate penetration and share with global accounts.
  • Develop people through performance management and ongoing feedback, focusing on strategic and systems thinking, talent development, and succession planning across teams and disciplines.
  • Shape the team's culture through actions, presence, and reinforcement of behaviors.
  • Lead the team in fostering business relationships with top corporate customers, travel management companies, leisure agencies, local communities, and civic leaders.
  • Serve board positions related to Global and Strategic Accounts as needed to augment the company's presence in the local community and influence sales activities.
  • Lead discussions in marketing, capacity planning, and network alliance meetings to identify strategic market opportunities and champion initiatives that optimize use of the domestic and international network.
  • Oversee the evaluation, approval, and execution of marketing promotions and drive global sales initiatives in collaboration with marketing and business loyalty teams.
  • Direct analysis of revenue, discounts, and contract performance across regions to ensure compliance with goals and drive profitability.
  • Drive strategic sales initiatives involving loyalty, sustainability, and joint contracting and alliances.
Desired Qualifications
  • Airline industry experience.
  • Experience structuring and managing corporate and agency agreements using a thorough understanding of current travel-industry distribution models.
  • Experience using travel-industry data-reporting sources such as ARC and PRISM.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, sales forecasting and reporting, and customer relationship management tools such as Salesforce or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in international sales management with a successful record of achieving sales targets.
