Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree is required.
  • At least five years of experience managing and delivering technical projects is required.
  • Experience managing end-to-end project delivery from contracting and planning through execution according to defined scope, budget, timeline, and quality standards.
  • Experience in project risk management, including identifying, analyzing, and responding to project risks in a timely manner.
  • Familiarity with design and construction execution processes.
  • Ability to understand and interpret architectural drawings, floor plans, sections, elevations, and details.
  • Familiarity with sourcing, procurement, and logistics procedures in a large or global organization.
  • Working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Suite, Microsoft Project or related project management software, and AutoCAD.
  • Ability to use internet and email to send, receive, and attach files.
  • Ability to sit and talk or hear frequently, and stand and walk occasionally.

  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 35%, including trips of up to 60 consecutive days.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the initial point of contact for contractors performing outfit work in the designated project area.
  • Build trusting contractor relationships and maintain communication while planning, scheduling, and tracking work-plan execution.
  • Collaborate with sourcing to ensure contractor and supplier requirements are met, documentation is approved, and interior outfitting and equipment are contracted through Supply Chain.
  • Create Purchase Request Forms for owner-supplied materials and secure construction equipment, including terminators, tools, gases, fire extinguisher containers, and straps.
  • Ensure ordered outfit materials and installation equipment are appropriate, cost effective, and compliant with applicable industry and company standards.
  • Collaborate with vendors to complete work plans, work breakdown structures, scopes of work, milestones, and staggered contractor start and stop dates.
  • Agree on tracking routines and report key performance indicators for the project area.
  • Collaborate with logistics to review contractor work plans, track changes, and ensure materials and equipment are delivered ahead of schedule.
  • Oversee contractor work onboard the vessel during drydock and assess progress against work plans and milestones.
  • Monitor contractor execution to ensure planned activities are completed on time, within budget, and according to scope.
  • Use project management tools and techniques to maintain scope and manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Communicate project-plan status, scope changes, and schedule variances to the project team and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to identify, analyze, and respond to project risks.
  • Flag potential risks and ensure they are reflected in project budget, schedule, and quality performance indicators.
  • Support the Project Manager in preparing change orders for approval.
  • Ensure technical and final inspections are scheduled and review punch-list and unfinished-work items.
  • Close punch-list items, finalize guarantee-claim lists, and sign off on work.
  • Share with the Project Manager which practices and processes worked well and where improvement is needed.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering or Naval Architecture is highly desired.
  • An architectural degree is highly desired to support competence in multiple types of shipboard project work, including technical installations and interior outfitting.
  • Experience in shipbuilding or ship revitalization is highly desired.

Royal Caribbean completes $1.25B bond offering to refinance debt

Royal Caribbean Group has completed a registered public offering of $1.25 billion in senior unsecured notes due 2034. The notes, which carry a 5.550% interest rate, will mature on 20 January 2034 unless redeemed earlier. The cruise operator plans to use the net proceeds primarily to repay part of its outstanding floating rate term loan facilities. Any remaining funds will go towards repaying or refinancing other existing debt. BNP Paribas Securities Corp., BofA Securities, Inc., and Citigroup Global Markets Inc. served as lead book-running managers for the offering. The notes were sold pursuant to an automatic shelf registration statement filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on 29 February 2024. Royal Caribbean Group operates 71 ships across three wholly owned brands.
